Yesterday I was doing work on my laptop at a cool Manhattan's coffee bar (never know what to call those places). In that sprawling establishment, in a section I was sitting in (Wi-Fi is very popular here, btw), there were six other laptoppers, all using Apple's iBooks!
Today I am in a different coffee bar, not too far from yesterday's place, Wi-Fi-ing again and -- you guessed it: Four out five laptoppers are using iBooks! Some people just know how to fly
The second goodie: For the first time ever I saw another person using a Treo 600 at this place (besides Chick of course.)
Oh well, back to work now...

Are you telling me that wherever you go, most laptop users use Apple's iBooks or is it because you are an Apple user that you tend to notice fellow apple users more?

I think Ibooks rock! May even pick one up next time around when I dump this Toshiba Satellete lappy.

Sorry ronbo, I guess I should pay more attention to my own thread
I have been seeing many iBooks and PowerBooks in NYC. Lots! It can't possibly be the "norm" because I read that Apple has only a 3% hold on the market (albeit total sales; including laptops which, I believe, sell better than Apple's desktops). But I swear that in Manhattan, as far as I can see, 80%-85% of laptops users are using Apple's. And I am glad.

Why are you glad? Isn't it just a personal preference?

Well yes. But I also think that Apple's OS is superior to Windows and, perhaps, more people are discovering that. And, if nothing else, Microsoft has such a monopoly on the computer industry that I'd be in favor of supporting the underdog(s).

It's ok, I just think Chick jumped too quick that no one will be interested.

I had one of the old, old mac's. Loved that machine from start but since work are all about PC's, and I could easily put them together, the transition was dictated by affordability and work need.

Despite that, I still admit that Apple had it all together with the Mac. I just think that the market was flooded with PCs, literally, Mac did not have the chance.

As Toolkit says, you notice more Apple users because you are an Apple user yourself.
