I work in a 3-story building in Southern California. There have been times where I've been sitting at my desk and "feel" that an earthquake is in progress but never really follow up on it or either I go to the local radio station (KFWB, KFI) website for confirmation but it has no information posted about recent earthquakes.

I did some searching and found the Earthquake Notification Mailing Lists to SUBSCRIBE to alerts sent via page/cell phone or email. There's also a link for worldwide earthquakes as well.

Just thought I'd pass the information along since I live "Earthquake City of the West".

If you want to go completely insane, go here:

    http://www.incident.com/edismail.html

It's for the "Emergency Digital Information System" and you can get email updates on darn near anything that's happening in the state (or your area) including earthquakes, Amber Alerts, power warnings, etc.
