Clairegrrl's avatar does not look too happy, though... I wonder if this is because the EU vs. USA Olympic medal count is at 178:58 presently?

I still don't know why the US lag behind soooo much?

China are currently top of the standings (ranking by number of golds, then silvers, then bronzes) but Russia wanted to get more than the US, they're leaving it a bit late.

    You pay in kind, too?

Seriously though, is it dead? That would be VERY sad of course . No good quality, those Apple computers?
How many medals Asia have, including Russia, Australia an NZ?
Now since when are Russia, Australia and New Zealand in Asia????????

If you look for help, I suggest you count "US medals including Canada, Central and South America.... not that it would make a big difference ... Europe rules!!!!!!! I feel very European right now

To be fair to bird-brain, tulip, 'Russia' is actually the Russian Federation, a good chunk of which is in Asia. Of course, a bigger chunk is in Europe, but it does make it more problematic to file. Similarly, is Turkey in Europe or Asia?

Apple makes the best darn computers on earth, BTW.
That's ok, I am not paticularly keen on this Asia issue

Actually, we just gave away several Apple iBooks, but since I did not have your address... too late now, sorry.

BTW I really used to like Apple computers. But at a given point in my life, I had to give in to the realities of present day business IT environments... And Apple computers are really expensive! They better be good at those prices!

(And I am still waiting for a full count: How many medals did Asia get so far?!)
Since when do I have your address???? This post/email/PM must have gone lost?? OF COURSE I would have included you, if I had had it

Asia has got 146 medals presently (that is even including Russia and Turkey fully which certainly isn't fair in the case of Russia). Far more than the North/Central/South America of course, but far less that Europe. Sorry for the bad news. Is it McDonald's-poisoning, or maybe bad genes?

It's not fair to blame Mr. Hackman, I don't think he had anything to do with the US olympic team.

No way. We have already negotiated bilateral treaties on every subject that is of importance. Switzerland would have quite little to win, but quite a bit to loose (e.g. regarding interest rates) from becoming a full member of the EU. But as mentioned before, from an every-day-life-perspective, the difference is not that big.

That's true. We do the basic math courses in primary school... so in the US you reserve basic math for Ph.D courses?

    Hey there Chick.
Say, clulup, I assume you consider Israel in Asia. In any event, Israel is about to win a medal in Windsurfer Men - Mistral. Currently the Israeli windsurfer is in second place, only three points behind the leader, and the worst he can do is bronze! In your medal calculation you didn't mention Israel, by-the-way.
