I've watched her read this thread at least four times in the last day and a half...so she is keeping current....I am sure she has her reasons for being quiet. Maybe she will share them with us.....maybe not.

Seriously though, PeterBrown, I used to play the drums in a jazz big band (a looong time ago...). That fits to trombone, or is that not your style, are you more on the classical side? Do you think we could start playing Yahoo messenger conference call concerts for the Treocentral Off Topic community? Do you know any music for tromobone, guitar and drums? Any other volunteers?

Yeah, Jazz was my bag baby! Mainly in a swing band during university. We used to play at all the department and student society balls, over tea and for the first part of the dancing
We always got to stay afterwards when the dj or rock band would come on, and normally we'd have smuggled a healthy supply of alcohol in to our band room . Can't say it improved my dancing though...

I couldn't do the Yahoo thingy though, don't have a proper pc at home or broadband.

Wow, cool. I only used to play at high-school, and there are things I can do better than playing the drums. But it was great fun, I am sure we played some of the same things, like "Take the A-Train" or whatever.

Whenever the band leader was not around, and only the rhythm section was practicing, we would start playing Blues Brother's Peter Gunn Theme and stuff like that.

The band leader was a funny guy, I remember one concert when we got ready for the next (song? piece? whatever), and the bass looked over to the piano and the guitar asking what was next, then them looking at me, then we all looking at the band leader, hissing "what's next??" with increasing anxiety - but he was just looking through us with a blank expression, and was already counting "one...two...one.two.three.four".... since nobody started playing, we realized after a while it must be the song with the 12 beats of bass solo in the beginning
