Glad to hear that... now, who could it be? An animated gif of a dancing rooster?

OK, I've seen the former avatar, too. Must have been some blonde supermodel...

I would like to congratulate this thread on being the longest thread I've ever looked at.

Now, someone please show me how to ignore threads

What has Zurich got in common e.g. with New York (and many other cities as it seems) today?

Here's what I mean... it has been a very rare event this season so far, but nice for a change!

    More examples from other cities?

It has to be a Treo pic, given how blue the snow is, right?

Of course it is a global warming thing... The ski resorts at not so high altitudes (like 3000 to 4500 feet) sometimes don't have enough snow for proper skiing, so they have to make it with snow guns.

On the other hand, the snow storms you get in the US are really rare in Western/Central Europe thanks to the gulf stream, which pumps hot water from tjd-land to Europe. In order to find the Minnesota-type temperatures m00se tells us about, you would probably have to go to Siberia...

Thanks for the link... sad story. Now that even Russia has signed the Kyoto protocoll, one could be tempted to make remarks about who hasn't yet, but it would definitely be the wrong thread for that...

Intimidated by dark forces? Surely you must be joking! Now that you mention it, shouldn't Kyp Durron take care of the dark force, he's a Jedi after all...

Besides: lots of things are not intimidating, but you don't want them on top of you all the time nevertheless... (I'll leave examples to you)

Thanks... Mount Everest shrinking by a few feet - later maybe also because of the ocean rising a few feet...

Here's a review of Michael Crichton's latest novel, State of Fear. More a political agenda, as it seems.
