The truth will out! Clulup, as a scientist, is almost definitely half woman, as this sensational story shows: http://www.newscientist.com/news/news.jsp?id=ns99996564

Levels of hormone exposure in the womb helps determine which academic discipline researchers work in, a new study suggests. Perhaps surprisingly, a "female" pattern of exposure was common in scientists,
Of course, this is something MurrayAlex, ACDC and I have suspected for a while.

A higher level of testosterone makes men impotent? Actually, the contrary is true....

You can find more information here (I mean, just in case this is topic that you come across often )

This is the type of article we normally see in the science section of a newspaper on April Fools day... I mean, how much will you rely on a 2% difference between males an females in the ratio of index finger length compared to ring finger length? Isn't that well within the margin of error? Since the article is only "submitted" and not published yet, I would be curious to know what the reviewers think about it.

Besides, it does strike me as odd that the "female" pattern seems to be linked to sciences, while the "male" pattern is associated with humanities... not my experience at university, the humanities always had far more women...

But anyway, I can inform you that I have just opened our office server and removed one of the drives because the event log indicated a failure of that disk. Lucky the server has RAID 1 (better than nothing), so that the data is still there - now, does that sound feminine to you or what?

    Interesting link.

I thought this from the article could be one of the dumbest things ever written:

"The recent introduction of effective medication has increased awareness of this previously little-appreciated disorder."

"Increased awareness"! Sheesh, it seems that it's the only thing advertised on TV these days!

You know, when you are 100% of the statistic, I don't think it is a "little-appreciated" disorder.

Not that I have this disorder, mind you. After all, I am the Muffin Man!

Ain't that the truth, one reason for playing in a Big Band at uni, I always got to play at other departments Balls. The Arts Ball was crawling with totty Mind you, I think all the performing arts students went to that as well, some of the girls studying dance were, well, they made an impression!
The CocSoc Ball was more evenly balanced, and the BUMS Balls (there were various departments/societies using that particular acronym) tended to be quite even too.

    Hey Chickie
Been at the lake and got the boat out. As you say often: I have been bizy-bizy!
I just read some of the other threads on the Off Topic trail and I am astonished on how much energy people pour into the elections but with a caveat! They are more obsessed with the opponent then their own candidate. It is sickening. Yuk! (And you noticed I am not taking sides, just pointing this out, to keep this thread apolitical?!
Yes, I am proud of the MN volleyball team, they are fun to watch. I hope during Thanksgiving you will have the opportunity to go with us to a game or two.

They must have sharp-eyed moose in MN I agree with you. The level of discussion in some threads is so unintelligent and shallow, it reminds me of kindergartners arguing. One person in particular thinks that googling information is a ticket to wisdom. Yuk is right.
