My original route was Miami > Cancun...
But sightseeing is fun as well of course.

Not interstate 40, I hope. I-40 is farther north -- going through Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, etc all the way to California. I live on I-40 and have driven most of the length of it. It is not a good way to see the country. Once you are out of the mountains of east Tennessee, it is flat, boring and full of trucks.

Then you could swim across the Gulf of Mexico (just like you've secretly always wanted to... but watch out for the oil slick they say they can't find) and this way, you can avoid all that tedious driving.

I'm not taking it, but perhaps Prince A was thinking of that one.

I-10 is probably what PrinceAlbert was thinking of. It'll also get you to New Orleans as was previously recommended.

My suggestion all the way. Work your way up the east coast and cut across to Chicago. Then follow Route 66 for the best Americana experience.

Last time I checked, the zebra is indigenous to Africa. Unless by "still", you mean they are really quiet animals, in which case I don't fully understand what is so "wild" about them...
    Multiple trips huh...
