But really, why are people so loyal to a multi-billion company? Why is there a need to feel like you belong to it?

I'm not just talking about Palm, but in general. What is the psychology behind it? The only thing these companies are loyal to is you know what; THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR.

Why do people act like these companies can do no wrong in their eyes?
Isn't that the sign of an abusive relationship? These corporations care as much about you as you care about that little ant you stepped on while walking outside today.

    Marketing. And sometimes brainwashing.

Just like how some MLMs work...
Palm IIIc -> Sony CLI T650C -> Sony TJ-37 -> Palm TX -> Palm Centro -> Palm Pre Bell -> Palm Pre Plus Bell/Verizon Hybrid -> HP Veer -> HP Pre 3 NA -> BlackBerry Classic -> BlackBerry Priv

It's a Late Goodbye, such a Late Goodbye.

The only reason I have Brand loyalty with Palm is cause I like webOS and have invested some in the app catalog. Before the Pre, I didn't have brand loyalty with regard to phones. EDIT: I've owned Nokia, Samsung, Palm Treo and Pre, but not in that order and have jumped back and forth a few times until now.

Beyond phones, my brand loyalty stops when I can get a better deal on a copetitor's product. I'm an AMD guy, but the last 3 PC/notebooks have all been Intel. With video cards,I have always leaned toward Nvidia, but my last purchase was Radeon (not because of AMD, but bang for the buck).

Having said that, I would say that for the most part, I don't have brand loyalty, but rather there are brands or companys I will not go with, Apple is one of those, Sony is another (yet I have a PS3 for Blu-rays which was again because of bang for the buck, it's still the best BD player out there if you can get past it's anoying OS)

Loyalty - The quality of being loyal.

It's not easily understood by most, and definitely unappreciated by others.

The actions of a person isn't that much different than say a > the actions of a Company.

Loyalty is subjective - I would say, and most likely would depend on the individual commintment to who are what.

I can keep going on and on.. But I think I'll stop here for now.

    Can I debate this?

See, my mother left when I was 5 and I hardly knew her, but I definitely don't have a problem with blind loyalty!

    Loyality Garret, not lol-ality

loyality and brand shouldn't even be in the same sentence, unless a negation is included.
