The writing was on the wall months ago. If politicians actually listened to there constituents, these wild shake up's wouldn't happen.

arrogance and politics don't mix very well.

What is scary is that 350,000 people in SC voted for Alvin Greene. That is a clear sign of why we are having trouble here in this country. The fact that someone would walk into a voting booth, and pull the lever/push the button (whatever the case), for someone so unqualified is just crazy. Of course, people voted for obama so it shouldn't come as a huge surprise....but....even I would say obama was more qualified than Greene. If I had been a democrat (gulp, horrible thought) I would have either not voted or voted for a write-in.....but vote for Alvin Greene? Good grief.

That just tells me they don't care about anything but the "D'. Maybe a few wanted to spite the "R" or wanted to give the underdog a chance or even just thought it would be funny. But I'm betting most of them just wanted a "D" no matter what.

How else can you explain Barbara Boxer?

I agree for some reason I would like to see the chuck norris bill cosby ticket. Something tells me they would have similar campaign beliefs.

Wrong. Obama cut taxes, exactly as he said he would during the campaign. The vast majority of working Americans get more in their paycheck. Just because you didn't notice doesn't mean it didn't happen.

The reason a lot of people apparently didn't notice is that, as Obama has said, he did it economically correctly and politically incorrectly, i.e., instead of handing out checks like Bush did, it was given to people in their pay to ensure that it would be spent to stimulate the economy rather than saved.

Handing out checks gets political points, but doesn't work in a recession as well as giving people more cash in their paycheck.

    Just sayin'.

Got to agree. Boxer and Reid get to keep their job but Feingold gets the boot...that just doesn't make any sense. Feingold at least tries to work with people he disagrees with.

It's either true or it isn't. Jonathan provided sources to show it's true. You've provided . . . nothing except ill-informed, biased opinion.

But whatever, if you actually believe the GOP is going to improve the lot of the vast majority of Americans, the people who actually make this country run, I don't know what to say. They never have, and they never will, as we're about to learn all over again. Yay!

Or maybe you can list some examples?

Yup....for us folks who work via 1099's and pay quarterly taxes, we don't see a dime. All I see is this rather nice check that gets mailed in every quarter. I think that is actually the problem with most people on taxes, they pay a little bit each month. When you start to send your taxes in every quarter, that is when your eyes are opened to how much one pays in taxes. Also, some people didn't notice these reduced taxes because....well....they were let go. Hard to see a tax break when you have no job. obama's problem is he worked on his socialistic agenda before working on the economy.

You're thinking micro-economics, not macro. (Also it's 33% more than Bush handed out. Wasn't that $300?) Also, as Jonathan pointed out, it was part of the stimulus package, so it's intended to have a macro economic effect when multiplied over the entire workforce. Remember that the economy was not in its present crisis when Obama proposed the middle-class tax cut, and it necessarily had a different purpose by the time it actually was made into law.

what they did was, let you keep $10, but then added that $10 to the national deficit which we will now pay heavy interest on to the fed reserve. we'll most likely pay for it with another loan for double interest and so on. and devalued your money and inflated costs.

so that $10 he let you keep a week for 2009, you'll get to pay $10 a week for the next 10 years.
I bet you were wailing on Internet boards every day when Bush put a torch to Clinton's surplus and ran up a deficit larger than the combined deficits of all the administrations in U.S. history, right?

Or did you get deficit religion on January 21, 2009, like seemingly everyone else, including the entire Republican party?

Yes. You're mostly right, occasionally wrong.
