    I've never really injured my chest before so I'm not sure. Basically it feels like I'm being stabbed with a knife.

    Glad your temp is improving. Your muscle soreness will probably go 1 week+, but should improve. What makes you think you cracked a rib? What were you doing at the time it first came on? Press down along your chest wall. Does that illicit the pain? Is the pain right next to your sternum or somewhere else?

    You should probably take some ibuprofen regularly for it. If it doesn't make a dent in the problem after a bit and the pain is enough to really affect your breathing, you might want to take a visit to the ER so they can run a chest xray.
