last night while I was listening to my son teach (my first time seeing him live) I found myself distracted when someone walked by carrying a Pre+. I was bummed they left early so I couldn't show them mine and make sure they know about precentral. That's bad on several levels.

down here it's a sign of respect to be called or spoken of as 'miss verleen' or 'mister danny' regardless of marital stus. It's very endearing.

Nice! I love my Linux install (Ubuntu 10.04). Right now, it's only set up using WUBI though... When I get a new hard drive, I'll do an actual install for it. My current 250gb 5400rpm hard drive just doesn't cut it anymore lol. I'm probably going to upgrade to a 500gb 7200rpm drive.

Anyone have any experience with that Seagate 500gb 7200rpm hard drive with 4gb of SSD? I think it's called the Seagate Momentus... That drive seems like a great replacement for my current one too... Hmm.

Never used it but that drive looks hot. Does ubuntu have TRIM support? It's gotta be hard to manage a drive like that unless it's only using the SSD part as super fast cache for loading up most often used programs and files in which case idk if that would work fully under linux.

I meet a launch day Pre owner a few weeks ago at the place where I play pool. He had no knowledge of Preware or patches or anything. I showed him my phone and he got all excited so I bookmarked P|C on his phone. Last I heard he was running around telling iPhone owners that he had a better phone. Hahaha he got religion.

I'm not quite sure. My knowledge of Ubuntu is somewhat basic lol.

Yes, I believe the drive only uses the SSD portion for frequently used applications and the OS (I think). Ubuntu runs great with my current setup, so it doesn't matter if it can use the SSD or not.

My Windows7 install would definitely benefit though lol.
