Yeah, 285 is usually better on the west side, but you're on the east side.

It only takes one car to mess things up though, so i just go straight through downtown because it's more direct.

    The traffic is everywhere anyway.

Actually, the traffic here is nothing compared to my old hometown, NYC.

I lived in Brooklyn for a year in my teens. Always took MTA (and the subway 95% of the time) so I have no idea what the traffic was/is like for the most part. Now crowds and lack of personal space, that I remember quite well...

It does bring back memories. I was born in Brooklyn and spent most of my summers there growing up, besides that one year I lived there. Haven't been back since...wow, like a week after 9/11. That was the cheapest flight and most empty plane I've ever been on.

Yes, the subways are awesome... and I went back last year twice for visits and rode 'em... even better now.

I remember "stickin' it to the man" on quick trips out & back somewhere by taking the bus there and train back to get the ride free with the 2 hr transfer deal.

Ahhh, the smell of Fulton St., lower level, in the summer...

oh wait... THAT I don't miss
