    Yo,
Cops ask for my papers quite frequently. They say drivers license when they do (I don't mean when I'm driving) because I am pretty white, I guess.

    What's the point?

They can crawl up my **** for no reason, they can crawl up yours too. It sure doesn't matter what you look like. Don't break laws and you should be cool.

Also, what happened to the native americans when the U.S.A. was forming has no place in this discussion. We can only work with what is going on now.

If it's not obvious, I am all for amnesty.

    peace.

Freedom of Expression? Not if it's about Illegal Immigration
By Bobby Eberle May 18, 2010 7:13 AM

Since the Arizona legislature passed Senate Bill 1070, the media has been abuzz about illegal immigration. How dare they pass such a measure? That's the message that keeps flowing from the mouths of the liberal elite. They have tolerance for drug dealing, kidnapping, murder, and other crimes, but no tolerance for people -- American citizens -- who want to protect themselves. Take a public position against Arizona's new law, and you are celebrated by the media for expressing your First Amendment rights of free speech and free expression. But how about if you support the law? If you're Jim Clark, support for Arizona's new law got him thrown out of a basketball game.

First, a recap. Arizona's so-called "tough" new immigration law simply states that if a law enforcement officer pulls over someone for a traffic violation or other lawbreaking, the officer can require the offender to show proof of residency if the officer suspects the person is an illegal alien. The law has widespread support from Arizona residents and the country in general. According to a new Rasmussen Reports poll, only 33% of nationwide voters oppose having a similar law in their state, while 55% favor passage of such a law.

Of course, as shown in the health care debate, what the American people want or support doesn't matter. What's popular among the left-wing media is to highlight people who take a stand against the Arizona law. Tea Party rallies are shunned by the media, but have a rally in favor of illegal immigration, and you'll get all the attention you want.

As a show of opposition to the Arizona law, the owner of the Phoenix Suns professional basketball team had his team don "Los Suns" jerseys for a playoff game. The move garnered national media attention. But Phoenix Suns fan Jim Clark had a different idea. During Game 2 of the playoffs between the Suns and the San Antonio Spurs, Clark wore an orange shirt which read, "Viva Los 1070." What was the result? He was kicked out of the game by Suns' security!

As noted in The Daily Caller, Clark and a friend "were ejected from their first row seats and removed from the arena last week after refusing orders from security guards to take off their shirts in support of Arizona's recently passed law against illegal immigration."
This is not the first occurrence of politics creeping into the Suns basketball games: On Cinco de Mayo, team owner Robert Sarver came up with the idea for the team to wear "Los Suns" on their jerseys in protest of the immigration law. That's what drove Clark to don his own shirt.

"If they're going to shove their politics down my throat, I'm going make a message of my own," Clark told The Daily Caller.
Phoenix's ABC affiliate web site, quoted Clark as saying, "I didn't go there (game) to hear about politics, I went there to be entertained."
Soon after the game started, according to Clark, he was approached by security at US Airways Center.

"They (security) looked like secret service talking on their microphones, then they told me I either had to take off the shirt, turn it inside out or leave, so they decided to throw us out," said Clark.

Clark said he and a friend argued with members of the security staff outside the building and were eventually allowed to return to their seats.
The best comment to come from Clark was his correlation between what the security officials were doing and what the Arizona law is supposed to do: "The irony of the whole thing is, they (security) wanted to see our tickets, they wanted to see our papers, they wanted to see if everything was in order with us," said Clark.

This will likely not be the end of the story. Clark told The Daily Caller that he has printed 500 similar shirts with more on the way.

So... an Arizona mans stands up and supports a law which is designed to crack down on illegal activity and enforce immigration laws, and he is the bad guy? I guess freedom of expression comes with a great big asterisk next to it. It only applies if you speak out against America and the American way of life.

I'd love to see a group of Sun fans sneak in to their next game. If they get caught, have them scream discrimination about being asked to show thier ticket.

Freedom of Speech refers to government control of speech....the Suns' stadium is a private business, and as such freedom of speech / expression doesn't apply.

That's it? That's your best response? It was a private business so oh well?

I bet if they decided to throw out illegal aliens, you'd be falling out of your chair.

I know I am late to the party here, but I lived in Arizona for 9 years. I am currently still in a southwest state that is dealing with immigration issues. Recently, due to illegals coming and getting medical attention and not having to pay a dime, it almost bankrupted our local county hospital cause its been going on for years. If that would have happened where would the people that are actually citizens w/ no insurance go in need of help ?

I'm all for anyone and everyone coming here for a better life. But do it legally, do it right.

I know quite a few Chinese/Korean/Japanese/Filipino/Cuban/El Salvadorian/Russian and people from India that came here the right way and did everything right to gain citizenship, they paid the fees, they learned the language, and they passed the 50 question test to all gain citizenship, etc.

My wife and her family waited years and years to get here. Did everything right and their proud to say their Americans.

Soo many problems are associated with illegal immigrants. Their literally using up resources meant for tax paying citizens. How many times have you heard a story of a deadly crime happening, all to hear the police found out the suspect fled back to their home country ? Too Often here.

I think Arizona did this to prove a point to the feds that its time to do something about the problems. Do you remember a few years back when people were massively protesting immigration reform ? If they would have understood what was going on in Washington they would have realized it was going to HELP them. But instead they ran through the streets burning American flags and holding another country's flag up high. Which more than likely scared anyone in Washington from continuing on.

Amnesty ? I don't think so, that's unfair to all of the other Immigrants who came here the legal and right way.

The government needs to get off its *** and come up with a good plan for immigration reform.

You pass the North Korean border illegally you get 12yrs hard labor.

You pass the Afghan border illegally you get shot.

You pass the American border illegally you get a job, driver's license, allowance for a place to live, health care, education, billions of dollars spent so you can read a document.

We carry passports in other countries or face jail time.

I support the law. If people think it will cause racism or racial profiling, then just ask everyone to show their citizenship and tada - no more profiling! You shouldnt be able to get a DL, or any kinda of any benefits if you can not prove your citizenship. If you are not legal, then just because your kids are born here, doesnt mean they should be automatically legal ... they shouldnt get benefits, go to public schools, or get free anything US Citizen/legal aliens are entitled to ..

They are "criminals" when they are stealing from the nation .. I tired of supporting them .. Im tired of them working our jobs when we are in a recession .. im tired of them driving around and not paying for their Dl and car registrations - im tired of them going into emergency rooms / free clinics and for medical care and not paying for it ... a majority of the illegals in this state are from mexico - what would Mexico do if we sent 450,000 people back to them???

there is no reasonable excuse for them not to become legal (other than oh yeah, its cheaper for them to remain illegal!)
