How is it that 6 of the richest counties now surround DC? But hey, let's just keep raising taxes!

The defense and tech indusries are heavy around DC/NOVA. What's that have to do with taxes? Unless you think we should spend less on defense?

I can see that based on density of contractors in the area, the mean income level could come up, as compared to areas where you have a more diverse economic structure. But I've never met a "rich" defense contrator..... unless he was selling secrets.

You can't rule out the Senator pay for those living in that area... plus staff, etc.
Also, did you happen to catch the one in Utah... there's something to hang your hat on.

When the density of cash tends to be around the home of the federal government, it can't be good. This means that private industry (that doesn't have government contracts) in this country isn't doing very well (or as well as it once was) and that too much money is being focused on big government.

    It's a very telling sign.

There is a marked difference between earning a high wage/salary and being rich. People with large income live paycheck-to-paycheck, too.
