I was searching for some info in archived posts for another user and crossed paths with this ancient thread before my time and thought it was great.
Believe it or not, I used to "know" some of the guys from the old part of the tread. But alas, they are long gone.... - ah, the good old days!!

Not forgotten... I remember you, for instance. Have you ever heard of Toby or BobbyMike?

Oh yeah--I'm surprised those boys aren't still hanging out here slugging it out...all in good fun, of course. I really miss the "good ole days" of the regulars at Visor Central. I get a lot more work done, though!!

Sorry, I meant "have you heard of BobbyMike or Toby since they left Visor Central?" Isn't it kind of scary when long-time posters suddenly disappear?

And what about you, have you been in "read only" mode for almost a year?

I wondered if you thought I had suddenly lost all ability to recall names... I have tried to email BobbyMike to find out about his wife's health and how his kids are doing. I haven't heard from Toby either. It *would* be nice to see how all of us previous regulars are doing.

I switched to a Palm Tungsten (now a Tungsten T3) and found out last February that I was pregnant. We had a healthy and gorgeous (and smart...and etc etc) little girl September 22nd. So, I haven't really had time to be on the computer much.

So would you recommend the Tungsten also for other women who want to become pregnant?

I was wondering about BobbyMike and his wife as well, I hope everything is ok...

Congratulations to your baby girl! Try uploading the picure again. Or maybe switch to a Treo650 and upload then!

yes, i used an ibm 's 8086 and 8088 with no hardrives, but with two 5 1/2 floppies.

used ws 3.3 (?). wow, i remember the burn in on that amber screen.

one of them was eventually upgraded to a 10 mb hard drive and wp 5.0. still the best word processor ever. remember the first time you used wysiwyg?

re the hard drive. at the time, i never thought it would be possible to fill it up. ahh the young.

We is fine. Just temporarily out of the loop. But like many things (bad pennies, etc.) you can never get rid of us. ha ha.

Hi BobbyMike! What a surprise - another Visor Central veteran showing up after being lost for almost a year?! Really glad to hear you are fine!

I doubt there has ever been a subject where we sharerd the same view, but it has always nice and interesting nevertheless!
    Welcome back!

Must admit... missed you and the others. Kathy emailed me and told me the good news (about her beautiful baby girl) and I thought I'd check in. I'm still using my Prism so i'm definitely old school here.
I know it's not your fault that you don't agree with me on most things... liberalism, like other birth defects just happen

Ah, don't worry, I know that somewhere, deep down, you know I am right, you just don't want to admit it in public.

Yep, but that's also the part of me that thinks the world is flat and Elton John is cutting edge.... I quite rightly ignore that part of me.

Remember the WordStar quick codes? I wonder if Mr. Gates was influenced by them when he developed his Ctrl code keyboard shortcuts?

I coded in FORTRAN and ran the programs on punched cards... oh the dread of dropping your program "deck"...

Wordstar... talk about a blast from the past! But no, with my first PC (it was an IBM PSII, model 25 I think, the original one that came with TWO 3.25 disk drives!) I dont think it could even run Wordstar, it had a whopping 384kb of memory, if I recall correctly... I used this horrible DOS based word processor, and I had the program disk on one 3 inch floppy in drive a: and I would have my data disk in drive b: ... I still have that ancient clunker too! And it had NO hard drive whatsoever, everything had to be saved on low density floppies but that computer was my baby for a long while until I built my first 386 machine! And it STILL works althought it isnt good for anything but as a conversation peice... lol!

It was all a big surprise, so maybe the Tungsten counteracts BC methods!

    Thanks!!

Still won't let me upload--it acts like it's working and then gives me the white error screen...

Very cute, thanks for posting (your avatar)! She looks very curious, active and pretty! So when is the next one scheduled?

We are actually quite happy with our two, no way we are going to catch up with BobbyMike (four)!

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water...

Looking into Treos at my new job, and decided to do a vanity search. Still alive and well here.
