Once upon a time, on my carrier, you could call your own number in long format (xxx-xxx-xxxx) instead of *86 (your carrier may use a different code), and it would count as a mobile-to-mobile, thus avoiding burning paid minutes. Then they closed that loophole. Then when they released a frequent call "favorites" list, you could add your own number and it would be a freebie. Then they closed that loophole. Now I managed to add my mobile number to my Gvoice account, and made my GV number one of my fave numbers. It forwards back to my own mobile number now, and thus goes into my voice mail. I entered a keystroke set to pause, log me in, pause, and check my messages. It does the trick...for now, until I can figure out how Gvoice actually works ;-)
