    Ok, so you can use most phones, but this works great on the Pre and Pixi!

    Simply text "Haiti" to 90999 and $10 will be added to your phone bill with the proceeds going to Red Cross efforts in Haiti. The program was set up by the US State Department. Quite a bit has been raised already, but they will need more.

    Thanks

    Oh yeah, be sure to spell Haiti correctly, I type it wrong all the time

    Other ways to help:
    • text "HAITI" to "90999" and a donation of $10 will be given automatically to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts, charged to your cell phone bill;
    If you like my Themes, please donate! Thanks!

    Does it text a confirmation response back? I didn't get a response after an hour. Maybe a good sign of donation overload.

    maybe the orignial poster can add these two charities the top post so it's easiest for someone just finding this thread:

    Other charities,
    Wyclef Jean's Yele, To send $5 - text "Yele" to the number 501501.
    The William J. Clinton Foundation, to send $10 -text "Haiti" to 20222.

    I've been told but can't confirm that cell phone companies are NOT charging any fees to do this. Anyways, a very sad circumstance. estimates at well over 50,000 dead.

    Sprint and AT&T have announce they're waiving fees. Although retroactively. Seems they're bowing to pressure rather than just doing the right thing.
