    So there you go.
It doesn't take away her right to choose.

There are economic realities that you aren't putting into the equation.

But don't those economic realities extend to everyone? Including those who vehemently disagree with the action but who, under the previous proposal, would have no say in the matter?

Oh, I agree. An individual woman who wants an abortion must only pay for one. Under the previous proposal, you and I must pay for millions. But that's not really the point. Lots and lots of people don't want to be made party to what they believe to be a killing. By treating it as a covered procedure, those people have no say in the matter.

The last time I checked, Roe v. Wade said it wasn't.

That's why I said "killing". Though regardless of the term, the result is very much the same.

Did anything really change for her?
Under the current system she has to pay.
Is that changing somehow with this new system?
I'm not really as informed as you guys, so I may be missing something.

Well, it's a long, long journey
    To the capital city.
    It's a long, long wait
    While I'm sitting in committee,
But I know I'll be a law someday
At least I hope and pray that I will,
But today I am still just a bill.

Berd, that's a can of worms that varies from state to state and it's a mess. just google "Is abortion covered by health insurance?" and you'll see what I am talking about.

Addendum: I just google it and here's the first document that comes up: http://www.guttmacher.org/statecente.../spib_RICA.pdf

    Oh, okay.
Many were hoping that somehow this bill could of incorporated coverage for abortion, which would of removed State by State decisions.
In another words, If at present a state doesn't allow abortion to be covered by insurance this would of removed that.

But as it is, nothing will change.
To me, either way there's a can of worms.

Most agree that having a tumor removed is a legitimate need.
But to make a decision for the populace, that they will now be paying for abortions with their tax dollars, is just asking/enforcing a little too much. Now we're moving into an area that some might consider immoral. So rather than put the burden on the taxpayer who might feel it's against their own conscientious moral law, it puts the burden on the person seeking the abortion.

You still can. Only these days your mommy is named Nancy and your daddy is named Harry.

My guess is they're not as wise as your real parents were.

    ^ That was Perfect!

I'd a been even more impressed if you would of made that reply within minutes of my post.

Now I don't know if it didn't take you 1/2 hour+ to put that together.

    I'm impressed either way.

That is not going to reduce costs. That is going to spread the cost around.

I'm really curious about his reasoning behind this. I'm not sure why it would suggest he doesn't have a backbone, though. It's not like he caved to his party's pressure since he voted against party lines.
