So I love pc gaming and I was wondering what would be better out of the following 3 options:

    1. Just get a new video card
    2. Buy a new PC and get a good video card
    3. Build a new pc from scratch

My current set-up is a AMD Athlon 64 Dual Core Processor 4400+ 2.30GHZ
with 4gb of RAM, a 550 Corsair PSU and a 9800 GT. I can play Crysis on medium settings right now at 1280x1024, but I would like to raise the benchmark and be able to play it on high settings with at least 30fps.

I am thinking of getting a new video card to play some of the new games but I fear that my processor might be a bottleneck. Also I am not planning on spending more than 800 bucks.

So If anyone with more knowledge can help me It will be greatly apreciated.

If you can do three, two (maybe) should not be considered as it muddles things up....

I would say a hybrid of one and three... maybe look at replacing the mobo, cpu, and video card.

I'd go to places likes toms hardware and compare cpu speeds vs. what you have now...

With 800 you can use what you have now and continue on to build a speed demon.

I'd depend on reviews from different sites like Toms... or a site forum dedicated to gaming... but that is me... good luck.
