I am a college student. Should I get a Audi A4 or Acrual RL both 2006 model year. And which one do the ladies prefer a guy to drive? and which is cooler?

Any real life experiences with these two cars? Reliability? Practicality, etc?

    thanks

Acura is far more reliable/dependable. less headaches vs. German junk.

RL. My father used to have one (before totaling it).

If those are the only 2 choices then go for the Acura. If you want to compare apples/apples, look at an Acura TSX/RSX. More the same class as an A4 IMO.

The Audi isn't junk but it will be in the shop all the time, get the Acura. Good ol' reliable Japanese car

I live in the North East and need AWD. I wish the TL or better TSX had it then it would be one of my top picks and their cheaper.

no experience with the Acura RL, but the A4 has allways been a nice car..
A bit spartan/boring interior, but they drive very well... quality should be ok on both I think..
As for what gets the most girls? neither, if you want that, get a sportscar or a motorbike

The A4 is far from junk, but it will almost certainly cost more to maintain. But if you want that size car, as others have suggested, look at the TSX, the Lexus IS250, the Infinity G, too.

I think the ladies dig the Audi more. I would go for the RL. We have a 2008/9 TSX and I love it.

BTW, aren't college kids supposed to be relatively poor? Maybe buy a more modest car and invest the difference? Just a thought.

This is the truth. I was contemplating buying an Audi A4 or A6. Then I talked to a few friends who either had own or did own an Audi. I aslo did a lot of internet research and it became obvious that Audi's spend as much time in the garage as they do on the road. Plus they are very, very expensive to fix. I ended up going with an Infiniti G35 and I know I made the right choice. So for you I would say take the Acura.

Yeah, because now is a great time to invest.

What does this have to do with the Pre?

RL or A4.......very different cars. Both marketed at different buyers/price points. Why just those 2?

It certainly can be. Probably a lot of undervalued companies out there if one does their research.

Nothing...which is probably why it's in the Off Topic forum.

Go to your local Barnes and Noble, cars section, grab and browse a copy of consumer reports for used cars. in there, you'll not only find reviews for both cars, but also an index that shows the reliability of both cars based on actual repair histories..... you'll easily see which is more reliable.

Actually, the current market is extremely conducive to investment. With stock and real estate prices at such a low, it's a great time to invest.

Completely different cars. Hard to advise. I'd go for the Audi, because I love European cars (I'm on my 6th in a row), but when it comes to pre-owned, I'd seriously consider Acura/Lexus because of their reliability record.

    New: Audi
    Used: Acura

2006 was an okay year for Audis. The 2009's are head and shoulders better and nicer, but in 2006, they were okay.

I own a 2008 VW Passat (Lux High-Def package) and it is by far the nicest car I've ever owned (Light-years away from "German crap). The Audis are supposed to be even nicer (being VW's premium "sister" brand), so I would have no qualms with going with one. VW, Lamborghini, Audi (and some others like SEAT) are all owned in part by Porsche. Quality is amazing on the newer (2008+) vehicles.

Acura, as we all know, is Honda, and they are a reliable as the sun's rising.

I am not employed by nor am I endorsed by VW, Audi, Porsche, SEAT, or Acura. This is all just my opinion as a guy who has owned quite a few cars over the years and is currently doing research before buying three more for the kids this year.
