    Umm, yeah . . . okay.

Well, if that's the mark let's do this:

I acquired the job I have during the Bush presidency and also managed to more than double my income (just me and just this job) during Bush's presidency.

Meh, let me be fully honest here. Both candidates suck, I just happen to think McCain sucks the least--primarily because I don't see him as a socialist.

    LOL

Both do suck... but I'd trust McCain's judgment about as much as I'd trust your judgment, or anyone else online.

Obama is not a socialist, never has been... that is just ridiculous.

McCain is a maverick and if you like "rolling the dice" then you vote for him.

McCain's boyfriend, Democrat* Joe Lieberman, can't wait to get into office and really turn this country upside down... we are already sideways.

I honestly believe obama is our best shot... right now...

Hell McCain openly admitted he does not know **** about the issues America is facing. He admitted that "I don't know as much about the economy as I should." Then stated that he would read Greenspan's book. GMAFB!!!

    *Yes, I know technically not.

He holds socialist views, yet resides in the Democrat party.

    Okay come on . . .

1: Not knowing as much as one should about the economy (a rather broad statement) is not the same as not knowing the issues America is facing.

2: If that is the standard, most of America doesn't understand issues facing America since they "know less than they should about the economy" and haven't read Greenspan's book.

Problem is "most of America" is not running for President.

No, but they are voting for him which is equally bad and possibly even worse.

Theog, did you hear the interview today with Mr. Bennett, the Democrat investigator of the Keating 5 scandal? Take a look here: http://marklevinshow.com/audio/ and download the show for October 6. Most interesting. Theog, for your information, this guy is the guy in the know. Read up about it on your favorite site, Wikipedia. The bottom line, the chairman of the committee, a Democrat was not a happy camper, because all of the dirt fell on the Democrats, not the Republicans and he could just not have that happen. So he went after McCain and in the true spirit of politics, said he was guilty of bad judgment. Amazing. The investigator, a Democrat, said McCain and Glenn did nothing wrong, he even has evidence to support his findings.

    Just words. Just speeches.

Not really. Are you forgetful or delusional?

Also Ben, you continually fall over yourself to paint a close association between Aires & Obama. Not a peep about the bond between McCain & Keating (e.g. private jets & villas in the Bahamas)?

Wow, just words. Now there is a real example of fast friends. You & Palin might actually have a case if Obama and his terrorist "associate(s)" were that tight.

I have... and I definitely don't need to read your "voodoo research."

Hell, you did not even know about keating 5 until I told you about it. That was months ago. Now you come up with an answer? Did the RNC finally tell you what to say?

Your response was laughable... you blame a Dem because of McCain's associations and actions. Don't you ever want McCain to take responsibility for his own actions? When he left his first wife, I guess there was a dem there as well.

When McCain went to bed with those lobbyists and accepted free rides on their jets or sent letters on their behalf, I guess a dem made him get on the plane and put the pen in his hand.

    Wake up, Ben!!!! Damn...

Now, now, Theog, do not get upset. Just take a look in to it and you you will see the light of your errors. The investigator himself made the statement, I just repeated it. So, wake up, Theog.

How is this thread derailed? Are we not talking about McCain? And if we are talking about McCain, do we not also have to include Barak "Barry" Husein Obama in the discussion when it is applicable? We blame one openly, then we need to expand it for a real look at the issue.

Also Toby, it was not hijacked.

Ben... start your own thread titled "Obama's Troublesome Associations" instead of jacking this thread... Stop being a troll....

Whew...I guess it's a good thing I didn't claim it was hijacked. I said derailed, as in knocked off the tracks that it was supposed to be following. If a post doesn't follow the requested rules, it opens it up for the 'other side of the aisle' to follow suit.

Then I suggest you not slip in trash articles like the one from the Rolling Stone that had very little to do with any “Troublesome Associations.” In fact, to be more accurate out of an 11,807 word article, only 1,053 were devoted to talking about who McCain associates with (that's not even 10 percent).

That of course is nothing compared to their cherry-picking of McCain quotes.

Here’s where the quote originates from and in full text:

He was a psychotic torturer, one of the worst fiends that we had to deal with. I said, "O.K., I'll give you military information if you will take me to the hospital." He left and came back with a doctor, a guy that we called "Zorba," who was completely incompetent. He squatted down, took my pulse. He did not speak English, but shook his head and jabbered to "The Bug." I asked, "Are you going to take me to the hospital?" "The Bug" replied, "It's too late." I said, "If you take me to the hospital, I'll get well."
What is hilarious about this is the Rolling Stone saw fit to quote the line above in bold and take that as fact—regarding John’s testimony, but then oddly enough, determined that the rest of that very same paragraph wasn’t true and instead chose to believe what another soldier said.

Here’s what I want to know:

What evidence does the RS or anyone have that Dramesi’s testimony is any better than McCain’s?

According to Dramesi, one of the few POWs who remained silent under years of torture, McCain tried to justify his behavior while they were still prisoners. "I had to tell them," he insisted to Dramesi, "or I would have died in bed."
Oh, and for the record, since we are on the topic of how McCain is such a poor soldier in comparison to Dramesi, according to Dramesi’s BIO over at pownetwork.org:

    Quote Originally Posted by pownetwork

We can only speculate who that was being that at the time; however, McCain held the rank of 04 LCDR in the Navy while Dramesi held the rank of 03 CPT in the Air Force (hint: 03 ranks lower). And then there’s this:
“This is an excellent example of how the Code of Conduct was "bent" to the circumstances at hand. A necessary modification was made to ensure the survival of the prisoners; it having been determined that it was impossible to follow the Code literally under the circumstances.”

So seriously, before you get up in arms over the direction of this thread, attempt yourself to first maintain some semblance of direction. And furthermore, try not and post any more tripe such as the Rolling Stone.
No problem should ever be solved twice.
