Perhaps you should have the RNC buy you a $150,000 dollar space suit so you look the part - I hear they are in the wardrobe business these days.

Does she know what the Bush Doctrine is yet?

    Scary.

I agree for many reasons, however, trying to pretend she has foreign policy experience is only the tip of the iceberg for me.

Seemed to me that she answered that in the Gibson transcript (after a little splainin from Gibson). But yes, this tendency to attacking the parody as fact rather than the actual statements is a little scary.

That's my point. I don't think she ever pretended to have much foreign policy experience. She even says as much in the Gibson transcript.

Uh, no. We are not even talking of the parody... don't know where you got that from... you are starting to sound like Palin (and ben).

Instead of saying she did not know, she tried a failed attempt at throwing out some BS... but it was kicked back to her. It was unfortunate, but I think it showed the level of her political knowledge.

She had no answer... maybe she did in the parody, I don't know.... I don't watch SNL.

The only way I'm sounding like either is if you're operating at their reading comprehension level.

    Yes, and she answered that.

Agreed. It also seems to show things about others as well.
    She had no answer...
    Did you read the transcript?
maybe she did in the parody, I don't know.... I don't watch SNL.
That's OK, it seems that the majority of those who have seen the skits don't watch it either.

Ooohhhh... a little bit of teeth... I like it.

You know I'm right... but let me entertain myself.

    Yes, and she answered that.
After someone had to explain to her what was being stated/asked.

    Did you read the transcript?
No, I'm guessing at this stuff.... ok, yea, I did... I read most of this stuff.

Not sure what the skit has to do with anything, but ok... guess I agree with you.

Actually, she didn't answer the Bush Doctrine question (see below). As a matter of fact, she answered that "if there is legitimate and enough intelligence that tells us that a strike is imminent against American people, we have every right to defend our country. In fact, the president has the obligation, the duty to defend."

The Bush Doctrine specifically ignores the "imminent threat" bar that Palin describes, and instead states that we should act if we think a threat could happen at some point in the future. A large distinction.

GIBSON: Do you agree with the Bush doctrine? PALIN: In what respect, Charlie? GIBSON: The Bush -- well, what do you -- what do you interpret it to be? PALIN: His world view. GIBSON: No, the Bush doctrine, enunciated September 2002, before the Iraq war. PALIN: I believe that what President Bush has attempted to do is rid this world of Islamic extremism, terrorists who are hell bent on destroying our nation. There have been blunders along the way, though. There have been mistakes made. And with new leadership, and that's the beauty of American elections, of course, and democracy, is with new leadership comes opportunity to do things better. GIBSON: The Bush doctrine, as I understand it, is that we have the right of anticipatory self-defense, that we have the right to a preemptive strike against any other country that we think is going to attack us. Do you agree with that?

PALIN: Charlie, if there is legitimate and enough intelligence that tells us that a strike is imminent against American people, we have every right to defend our country. In fact, the president has the obligation, the duty to defend.

I guess the point tobin is making is that she did provide "an answer."

She did provide "an answer" but not one that a person running for VP should have provided. At least IMO.

Thanks for quoting it. I didn't have time earlier.

That is an answer to the question. The funny thing is that in explaining it, Gibson admits that even he may not understand it.

Yes, and also one that has evolved and truly encompasses more than even Gibson states.
Or, for more clarification and a similar outlook...

Just think that Biden never, ever, never makes a mistake. Oh, well, I guess he is not qualified to be VP. Gosh, he not qualified to be VP, Obama with no resume indicating he is qualified to be president. What will they do? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,433314,00.html

That isn't even a fox news story, is an op-ed piece by a guy on the ultrta right wing. Lott's only prior claim to fame seems to be having an obsession with attacking the author of Freekonomics and testifying before Congress last year against (!) regulating the capital markets. I am amazed the guy has the balls not to be hiding under a rock.

To the direct point, Lott and Palin's view on the authority of the Vice President are minority even among Republicans and even among very conservative ones.

That is why you nor palin should be vp... you have no idea what is being stated or what is being said.

It is comical... now I see why you support palin... birds of a feather...

Are you kidding? Despite the fact that you're calling me a liar for posting a direct quote from an interview transcript, I'm not sure that anyone else in the world is stating that there is no such thing as the Bush Doctrine. The definition may have changed in interpretation, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

If that is the case, then you clearly know more than Palin, who didn't respond in that way in the Gibson interview.

I'm really glad that you're supportive of your candidate, but accusing me of lying doesn't add anything to the conversation, except demonstrate your frustration. Given that her approval ratings are lower than Dan Quayle's, I can see why you may be lashing out.
