    Apple is still beating palm.

The iphone will continue to decline as its novice users continue to recognize the value of hard buttons.

I disagree. Among other improvements, ev-do on the iphone will continue to draw new customers. Some want large screens, others want their hard buttons. The iphone will continue to take away from palm.

I think people are taking forgranted that we are in an economic crunch right now.

I don't think Apple will sell as many iPhones just because people are saving their money right now.

opposite is true for the Centro though. I think more and more people will prefer to spend $50 for the Centro rather than $300 for the iPhone as they are tightening their budget.

And hey... Centro will be selling thru Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon... and with the Verizon-Alltel merger in the works, AT&T will not be so dominant anymore.

They have already stated that the next iphone will come with a significant price reduction. It will sell.

Its not as if the centro is going to overtake apple's marketshare. I'd say each company will remain about where they are in terms of percentage of the market share.

The idea of palm overtaking apple here is wishful thinking.

EVDO on the iPhone would mean its comming to Sprint or Verizon. You mean 3G being that the iPhone is currently only being offered with a GSM radio via AT&T.

But for some reason I bet the idea that Apple will take over Microsoft on the desktop side isnt, even though it is far more ludicrous as a notion.

I never said mac would overtake microsoft, so its kind of ludicrous to bring that up. In the same vain though, it would also be ludicrous to say that everyone will buy the centro vs blackberries or iphones.

Anyway, the centro's form and function will serve as a fine solution for those who like it, but there will always be the crowd that wants the large screen and features of the iphone.

Yes, I should have worded that differently. I was referring to the 3G speeds available on AT&T.

Well, SlingBox is ready for the 3G IPhone:

But is Apple ready for the SlingBox. One would have thought such a high profile company would have been accepted into the developer program straight away.

Although I did not read the entire article as I'm not an Apple jihadist, I would assume that Slinbox would not put in the development $ without having an IN with Apple.
