Bush lost all the debates... be careful....

History has shown (recent anyway) that the winner of the debates will not automatically ascend into the Presidency.

But here is a clue - you have an addiction to right-wing blogs and Sean Hannity. Maybe there are local Neo-con Addicts Recovery groups in your area that you can look into? You know, 7 steps sort of thing to help view the world less myopically?

I wish you good luck in your journey. We'll all be awaiting the new WHarropson on the other side."

    Moder,
This isn't a vice presidential debate.
It's OK to answer a question directly.

On the other hand, never mind. My apologies to the others for wasting another post.

On a serious note - McShame losing this thing could be the best thing for the Republican party since 1996. They are in complete disarray and if McShame loses, I suspect the party will reinvent themselves and may be a better party for it. Hopefully one that gets back to being fiscal conservatives.
the history of the GOP contradicts your optimism.

They marginalize and humiliate their "moderates" -- and promote their most bible thumping least informed evangelical politicians to leadership.

No matter the crisis they will confidently assure you that the solution is tax cuts and less government regulation -- if only government would get out of the way all would be paradise...

I don't think they can get much lower - they have nowhere to go but up. Unless they implode as a party and a new one is formed, but I don't think that will happen. I would like for both parties to implode and let the people of this country start over again....now that is some wishful thinking for you.

Anybody can get an advisor to tell him/her what course of action should be taken - nothing wrong with that and regardless of who is elected president, the person elected president will rely heavily upon other people in order to make a decision.

That said, what really means something is credibility. Is the person credible. Does the person have credible people around him/her. Does the history of that person suggest...and really now, how often do people change course in life. Both sides have an answer to that and the answer is the same: NEVER.

We have one person with zero experience. Never ran a company, never accomplished anything legislatively and that verified by leading people within his own party. One fine person said he inspired, well, inspiration is nice - but inspiration holds nothing against experience and legislative accomplishment.

We speak of reaching across the isle. One has extensive experiencing reaching across the isle and a bit of a history of going against his party. We have one that has no experience reaching across the isle and no history of going against his party.

We have one person that makes eye contact with the people he speak to. We have another person that looks above the people he speaks to.

We have one person who drove a large car and then switched to a smaller car when it became politically correct: http://sify.com/finance/fullstory.php?id=14754107

Read the article - it even states politically safer model.

I do not believe McCain switched cars in order to be politically correct.

    The list continues.

Look here for what their supports are likely to drive:

I could respond to the above post, but I'll just let the voters demonstrate their disagreement next month.

And it's "reach across the AISLE", not "isle".

Yeah, my bad on the isle thing. I really would like for one of you to take issue with what I wrote, I would really like to know what wrote that is wrong. And as far as the vote, the news media has had more than their hand in the shaping of the political spectrum in this election cycle. Regardless of where you sit on the spectrum, we should as a society be ashamed of the media for its one-sided coverage.
  13. #833
I agree. Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, etc. should be ashamed.

I like it. Mod, I will support you to the end of time on this (a couple of hours at least) because all of us know that even though you do support Mr. Obama and know and admit his short falls, that you yourself are on the high moral ground at all times. Let the campaign begin!

Obama and Ayers Planted the CAC Bomb Together

Here's the closing remark of the attached article by Howard Kurtz:

"The Obama campaign has cried foul when Bill Ayers comes up, claiming "guilt by association." Yet the issue here isn't guilt by association; it's guilt by participation. As CAC chairman, Mr. Obama was lending moral and financial support to Mr. Ayers and his radical circle. That is a story even if Mr. Ayers had never planted a single bomb 40 years ago."

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122212856075765367.html

Republicans need to drum this message until the election, if they are to have any hope.

Think of this: countless millions were moved about this Chicago elite ecucational reform under Obama's direction and at Ayers behest, what was the net result?

"CAC's in-house evaluators comprehensively studied the effects of its grants on the test scores of Chicago public-school students. They found no evidence of educational improvement."

Even if it wasn't the brainchild of a small c communist (Ayers description of himself), what does the result of this massive waste of money do to commend Barak Obama?

    ----truly yours,
    That lying hypocrite Republican Wayne
