Hi, odd request of the week coming up ....

Would anyone out there that rides a bike (I've just got a new single speed) be able to post some nice bike stickers to me from the US. They're a good theft deterent and the ones here in the UK are lame.

Reply here or PM me if you can help a fellow cyclist out. Thanks!

I don't think it gets more elitist than spending $1000.00 on a fixie because it's the hip new trend.

Which has grown old now. If I see one more schmuck pushing a fixie down the sidewalk with his pant leg rolled up, his U-Lock sticking out of his back pocket, and a pseodo messanger bag over his shoulder, I'll barf!

Do you get upset when you see other people with bleached blond hair too, do they pollute the sub-culture you felt so much a part of?

Let those that want to ride a bike rather than take public transport or drive a car do so, surely it's the riding that counts and not a case of schoolyard who's cool and who's not <rolls eyes>.

It's sad, I don't remember any of this mis-directed hate going around when BMXs or mountain bikes hit mass production, I think people are actually really upset at how the large corporations of this world research the current fashions or trends and then cash in so effectively. You may think it's just happening in the bike messenger world (and that would explain why you might attack the individual who buys a product, rather than directing your disdain to the corporations who targeted the fixed-gear or single-speed segment of the bike world), but if you open your eyes you realise this is happening everywhere.

More bikes = less cars = good. Perhaps the environmental standpoint escapes you chaps in the Americas. Now I'll leave the *****ing to the fashionistas...

I don't really consider fixies commuter devices. I certainly do not see anyone in my community doing anything other than riding in little packs in full fixie fashion gear, on the sidewalk, where they would normally be walking. Fixies are simply fashion. That is all. Messengers may have a use for them due to their frequent stopping and stopping but commuting, not useful.
