My dad always enjoyed his Palm OS devices, starting with a Visor Deluxe back in 2001.
He later got a Palm TX then finally a Treo 650 in 2006.
Almost 2 weeks ago, he got a Centro. I was up at his house on Fri. March 28, beaming some pics of the grandkids from my 700p.
I also gave him that great deluxeware weather app.
We spent some time on the TC store looking at cases.
15 minutes after he ordered one, he died of a heart attack, he was 64.
He loved his Treo, he played Bejeweled, kept track of his appointments and contacts (he was a sales rep).
The Treo was something that we had in common and we had a lot of fun with ours.
He didn't post here but lurked, so I'd like the Treo Central community to know we lost a good guy.
Thanks for letting me post this.

Glad that you could share something together as father and child... in this case a smartphone.

Sad that you won't be able to share them together any more.

All the best, prayers to you and your family...

    My condolences as well.

Will say that having someone go fast is hard... but it is harder to watch someone you love "go" over a period of three months. I've never had three months last so long... it was draining, stressful and a whole bunch of other feelings and emotions that I can't describe in this little box.

Fell lucky your father did not suffer.

Thank you for all of your kind remarks.
We were lucky that he didn't suffer.
It is just hard to believe that just 15 minutes after ordering the case at the TC store, he was gone.
He printed the invoice and I found it next to the Centro on his computer desk.
He really was looking forward to using the Centro after 2 years with a Treo 650.

I know... been there a couple of times over the past couple of years... oddly enough, I've also had friends pass (in their 30s and 40s) instantly. Right now I've resigned myself to fact I can handle it if quick.

I'll never forget my loved one looking at me and saying he did not want to die... and for me to help him. My head was swimming... it was happening, but not happening... what do you say, what is your answer.

You know, having to shower an icon... someone you look up to... not the fact that you HAVE to do, it is the fact that it is strange... you always remember how strong they are... they don't need you, you need them.

The oxygen... gasps of air... blank looks... skin color changes...

You are very lucky you and your father are close and will always be close. I'm also close with my father... but I know a lot of people who are not... it weights heavy on their hearts.

Hey Patchs, I'm very sorry for your loss. I, too, have walked that path with both parents.

The good news is that the spirit lives!!!

Have a great week and always remember the good times.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences on your loss. You will be in my thoughts.

My father is on a heart transplant list, and I deal with this fear every day. No easy way to deal with it.

My prayers are with you and your family.
