Interesting discussion..we should really start a new thread.

Moderateinny- You may be interested to know that the "Tale of Two Bushes" has a long legacy regarding his policies and proposals which have accelerated vet homelessness versus his gladhanding and pandering. Though a bit more sharply presented than I would prefer, its facts have thoroughly proven themselves out over the past 4+ years.

    You know, I can be such a party-pooper sometimes.....but I did warn y'all back in post #8

The National Alliance to End Homelessness, a public education nonprofit, based the findings of its report on numbers from Veterans Affairs and the Census Bureau. 2005 data estimated that 194,254 homeless people out of 744,313 on any given night were veterans.

In comparison, the VA says that 20 years ago, the estimated number of veterans who were homeless on any given night was 250,000.

Commercial I saw last night said 1/3 of all homeless were vets. It's getting worse fast!

Wow. If even half of this is true I can only hope Bloomberg makes the most of it when he runs as an independent for President since I don't see the Dems doing much to change any of this.

Sorry I haven't replied....I sold my Treo and don't have much need to frequent this forum any more. I hope Palm gets their act together....this is the first non-Treo I've had in years!

May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May whatever new forum you frequent not suffer from such ham-fisted MPD-suffering sockpuppets.
