Since Bill had locked my old thread, for good reason I am sure, I am going to start a new one. Please keep it civil this time, I will try to do the same.

"To the international community: The success of a free Iraq matters to every civilized nation. We thank the 36 nations who have troops on the ground in Iraq"

When you hear this, do you expect each of those countries have a standing military, and more than one member involved in the conflict? So would I, but I am not surprised with what Bush trys to sell us these days. We are getting overstatement and downright misleading info.

The reason I ask this is because Bush used Iceland as an example of a country with troops on the ground. The problems here are few, but significant:
    1) Iceland does not have a Military
    2) Iceland only has one person there
    3) He is a PRPRPR $person$
    4) and is leaving in a few weeks.

Also, he listed Canada, which from my understanding has only had a soldier there, that is one! But they withdrew him in July!!!

Just more half truths and overstatements from your dear leader.

Why do you continue to beat this to the ground. Have you thought of starting a thread, "Did Hillary lie?"

    "Did Obama forget?"

    "Did Hillary forget?"

"Did Bill or Did Not Bill?"

"What will the Democrat party do to make itself more popular?"

"Why is the Democrat party in bed with MOVEON.ORG?"

Whoops. Forgot to add that the "State Department's: Iraq Weekly Status Report" dated Sept. 12th clearly shows only "25 Countries with forces in Iraq (in addition to US)". But 33 in total.

So Ben, you think he lied?
  6. #6
Yeah he lied. He's been doing it since day one. I stopped counting after he first announced he was running for president. Even lied about being a Republican. (look at his record) And people still offer excuses and cling to him like some "cult of personality." All because he cloaked his a@@ in the flag and bible and calls himself a republican. Republicans need to have the testicular fortitude to walk....no run away from GB and take back their party! Sorry for getting off topic.

    And who cares?

I guess slick willy billy bob never lied about, "I never had sex with that woman".....BWAHAHAHAHAHA

Or anything else for that matter?

    NRG....you is a good socialist.....

Of course he lied. He always lies. Sadly enough he doesn't lie about sex so the right-wing moral majority cannot seem to take "personal responsibility" for their own misdeeds by continuing to support him.

Worse than the lie about his "coalition of the willing" was his most recent blantant lie that he did support disbanding the Iraqi army. To which Paul Bremer flipped out and publicly called Bush on his convienient selective memory. But of course that little lie and the incompetence behind it only cost several thousand lives and may not have stained any blue dresses.

Nice to see the moral majority still has their moral priorities straight!

This cuts to the quick of the matter and is a necessary backdrop to understand the issues, in their totality, with Bush. If he were a genuine Republican conservative, although I would likely continue to strongly disagree with his policy efforts, I could at least respect him. Bush has made a caricature out of the Presidency and the Republican party, and there is nothing humorous or respectable about it.

You don't know me, you don't know my beliefs. Just because someone dislikes Bush does not mean they are a socialist. Hell, the real conservatives don't even like Bush.

Your name calling is childish and your whole post amounts to nothing more than deflection.

I think you are right on topic!

Of course he lied. He's a politician. He lies for a living. The only people who lie more are the news media (they have a lot more volume, so it's only natural) and Hollywood (at least everyone knows they lie).

    NRG...

Your posting threads with this worthless stuff appears to be a cry for help. You need to consider that ALL politicians lie, cheat and steal tax dollars.

Posting worthless crap like this in a Treo related forum only pisses off the Repubs and gathers hard core left leaning liberals (did I mention socialists) around you, drooling with their errect members in their hand.

So what if Bush lied. As I said, ALL politicians LIE. Is this news to you?

To be honest with you, what I would like to do with Iraq and the whole region is not suitable for posting in this site or any other Treo related site. Yeah, I would prolly lie about it too.

    Have a nice day!

I guess the thing that he lied about matters more to me than those further to my right (not surprising). Using your logic I'd imagine you'll soon be saying "Clinton killed" too - of course omitting the fact that he rolled over an ant while doing Monica in his chair in the oval office. Contrast that lie with dozens of lies that resulted in the death of human beings to suit your hardened stance that "all politicians lie" is rather absurd....in fact, I'd have to question your moral compass for rationalizing things to such extremes for political purposes.

Clinton lied about a extra marital affair. He also was a good marketer who exaggerated to sell himself or his policies (or take credit for policies he did not create, but backed). Beyond that I'm not certain how much more he lied and if he did, they all pale in comparison to Bush Co. With Bush it is a matter of public record just how much he has lied - and the magnitude and consequences of his lies are unfathomable in comparison to Clintons'.

As a Goldwater Republican my departure from the GOP has been a long one - so I guess I understand how hard it can be to wake up and realize your political affiliations may not be entirely guided by your own compass but rather by your peers around you. Sadly enough I think the GOP is forever changed and will never be the same. I still have hope for the Dems but as long as Nancy and Harry are in charge they'll continue to fight for the independents and more moderate Dems and Repubs IMO. But I digress....

To accept this as our best in leadership is to abandon American ideals. Without an energized effort to hold all politicians accountable for their words and actions, is not American. These are the ingredients which form 3rd-world dictatorial nations.

    lifes2short....

Of course you know what being an american is. Right?

I never said anything about accepting dishonest political policy. I stated a fact that all politicians lie, cheat and steal.

Why should NRG or you single out a politician. Obviously, NRG's thread and others like it are posted to inflame people and get a flame war going.

I dislike Clinton, Kerry, Obama, McCain and others. I refrain from starting threads on my feelings on political subjects.

At the end of the day, who really cares?

I think this thread should be closed too.

I never accused you of accepting dishonest political policy. I addressed your previous statement and my point stands. Acceptance of status quo only leads southward.

Why should NRG or you single out a politician. Obviously, NRG's thread and others like it are posted to inflame people and get a flame war going.
Some lies have more bearing on American's real lives and human dignity, perceived domestically and internationally, than others.

Outside your contribution, I do not see any flame war attempts.

What is wrong with asking if the leader of the free world has lied? What could be more American that open discourse regarding the honesty of those who are supposed to serve us?

I dislike Clinton, Kerry, Obama, McCain and others. I refrain from starting threads on my feelings on political subjects.
If you have a topic that you feel is based on fact then feel free. If we disagree then you can be sure we'll counter whatever case you are trying to make.

At the end of the day, who really cares?

I think this thread should be closed too.

Well at the end of the day this is the "off topic" forum and I can see no wrong in allowing honest debates about political matters. If you don't like it then feel free to post in a forum that makes you more comfortable.

Sure, even stretched the truth. However, why are you so hung up on him? The subject just plain bores me. You evidently have this Bush thing, well, why not do justice to the entire spectrum - hit up on those I mentioned. Remember, Jessie Jackson thinks Obama is white.
