    June 7 (AP) — A federal agency has banned imports of new cellphones made with Qualcomm semiconductors because the chips violate a patent held by Broadcom.

    A Broadcom spokesman, Bill Blanning, welcomed the commission’s ruling and said his company aims to license its patent to Qualcomm. ”We simply want to be adequately compensated for the use of our intellectual property,” he said.
    Which in theory should make the whole point moot. Sure will cost Qualcomm money, but so what. That all Broadcom wants anyway. It's always about the money.
