    I am arguing for SOME oversight. That is best done by parties other than those investigating themselves. And oversight is an ongoing process .. not initiated after evidence of improper behavior is uncovered (by whom?).

    Ideally, Congress would keep an eye on the Executive branch. When both are from the same party, the odds of that happening is very low, as demonstrated in the recent past.

    The Justice Department audit reported to Congress is the oversight which was mandated by Congress. The Justice Department answers to Congress. This is what oversight is.
