In just about 10 days, my new 2007 335i will finally be here and ready for pickup!! (YAY!!!) I had it built in Germany to my specs and this included a Treo docking station for integration with the car's computer.

Can anyone with a BMW offer any advice when it comes to pairing the 700P to a BMW???

    Thanks so much!!

You may be disappointed, seems to be hit or miss, but check here for some experts on the situation:

Does anyone in the Atlanta area want to buy one? My ex has his up for sale in the Kennesaw area...along with a Verizon 700p. Mid-life crisis...

You might want to check here as well (http://www.e90post.com/forums/). I agree with noahas that from what I've seen, it seems to be hit-or-miss.
Oh, and it's Bimmer. Beamers are motorcycles and Bimmers are cars.

Well I actually thought you meant a BMW motorbike. Beemers are bikes, bimmers (or BMs in some cultures) are cars. Good luck, BMW uses a very unique bluetooth chipset and it won't always pair with the off-times crippled radios in US phones.
    Palm III -> Palm V -> Blue Palm Vx w/Omnisky -> Treo 270 -> Treo 600 -> Treo 650 -> Treo 680

That's a sweet ride. I have an E39 530i sport and love it. No bluetooth though, and I'm too cheap to spend the cash to retrofit it.

    Thanks!! I can't wait!!

There won't be any disappointment if the 700P doesn't work - there's plenty more to be excited about!! 300HP / twin turbos / run-flat tires / it's beautiful!!

That .gif that I made is exactly my car down to the body color, interior/leather color and rims. Nope, there won't be any disappointment here!!!

BTW: I'm hooked on phonics hence the Beemer!!

you have a cradle specifically for your treo? I have an 07 e60 and I did not know of this option. As far as bluetooth. It is easy to pair although I don't use it much. The problem is that the microphone is behind your head, causing you to sometimes yell to be heard. I'd be semi interested in this cradle for the treo. I will tell you though, on the 700, the address book gets all mixed up.

I think it's actually a 650 cradle but "I've been assured" that it will work with the 700. We shall see...according to what I have read, it may be a challenge but again, this isn't a big deal for me. It would be nice if it works, but if it doesn't, I won't care. I've been answering it 'manually' forever...

    2007 328i here.

i use BT with my 700p. it was very easy to pair but the implementation is a little screwy. even so, it's still very usable and i love having the integration. here are my observations:

    1. when an incoming call comes in, ..my stereo shows the caller ID of the previous call, ...not the current call. i keep my treo sitting on my console, so i just look at it when there is an incoming call.

    2. when initiating an outgoing call, ...if the attention manager has focus of the device, the call will NOT go through. the car will say "Dialing....", ..and then the radio/CD will come back on which is a sure sign something went wrong.

    3. the importing of "favorites" seems to work to some degree, but i find that interface clunky. the voice recognition works VERY well.

    4. once, i had a problem where BT was connecting to initiate calls, ..but then the device would use the internal speaker instead of routing it back through the BT. the BT was still enabled though to a certain degree b/c the radio/CD was still silent, ...but the device did not show the "cancel headphone" button, ..instead it showed the "speakerphone" button. very strange. i tried to delete/re-pair but it kept having this problem. a delete/soft-reset/re-pair fixed it.

lastly, nobody (in my experience) has complained about sound quality. they can tell it's "different", ..but not bad (standard "boxy" sound). i believe the mic is in the roof towards the front (near the control for the moon roof). at least it was for my 2004 BMW, ...i assume it hasn't changed.

    congrats on your new bimmer!!

Thanks Scott!! This is very helpful!!

Hopefully, I won't have the same issues but again, if I do, it's only a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things...

    Thanks again!!
