Switzerland launched an unprovoked, unilateral, military invasion of Liechtenstein. This action was not authorized by the UN, nor has any nation announced its support of this invasion. Upon realizing the error of their ways, the Swiss beat a hasty retreat. No casualties have been reported.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
But Swiss pockets were not deep enough to purchase a coalition of the sort-of-willing.
You may be right; I may be crazy. But, the Treo may be just the device I've been looking for.

As a rule, the assault rifles (every soldier keeps his weapon at home) are used only for suicides and the occasional violent crime.
    That's a rule?

Carrier pigeons were used until 1994, and the bicycle units were disbanded only four years ago.
After a nuclear blast, radios and vehicles with electronics will be screwed.

since the cold war, military spending has declined to 9 percent of the national budget from 35 percent.
Switzerland used to spend 35% of its budget on the military?? That's more than most nations.

I wonder if they get any royalties from the sale of all those Swiss Army knives. That would be a good reason to keep the military going.

The swiss were merely gauging the response time of liechtenstein's government in the event of an invasion, you see.

After witnessing the lack of one thereof, they are subsequently planning a full-scale takeover of liechtenstein, the likes of which has not been seen to date.

Once all the holes are worked out from their plan, that is.

Their battle cry upon breaking into the army's advance will be.....

.....RIIIIIIICOLA!!!!!!!! followed by threatening, battledrawn yodeling emitted from the mountainsides and nearby hilly moors....
