"You are provided facts that go against your uneducated statements and of course you disagree with the source that reports the information without researching the information yourself."

That site provides about as much fact as moveon.org, whom I also do not trust. It is a mouthpiece of the right - period and as such has little credibility with me.

"Then on one hand you spout that the recruiters target uneducated, then you turn around and say that of course they have a higher % of high school graduates because it is required."

You know full well I meant higher education - you see a lot more recruiters in high-schools in the inner city than you will in a white middle-class school. Why is that? Because those kids feel they have less of a chance of going to college so they are ripe to be plucked by the military recruiters with the promise of getting their education paid for and other "perks".

"You stated that 90% + of enlisted have less than a 2 year degree whtn the enlist, that really took some thought on your part did'nt it. Most 18-21 year olds have less than a 2 year degree regardless of what profession they are in. Brilliant!"

Not sure it is brilliant - it is obvious, which is exactly how I phrased it - as fact that could be easily concluded.

"Do you know what the GI Bill is? It is not designed to help GI's catch up to the education level of their civilian counter parts as you seem to think, it is a program to assist in educational expenses."

Yes I do - I also served so I know exactly what it is - a recruiting tool first and foremost and a way to advance one's career for those staying on beyond their initial hitch. It is a great program (before my time) but clearly your understanding of the purpose is something else. So what is your understanding of the GI Bill? Please enlighten me.

"Many companies have a tuition assistance program for their employees, does that mean their employees are uneducated?"

Well less companies offer such benefits these days nor do they need them to attract people because this economy is no longer one whereby employers have to hand out BMWs, stock options (golden handcuffs) or education benefits. But I'd also venture to guess that companies offering education benefits are offering them to white collar workers to complete their MBA - not a Associates or Bachelors degree.

"It is a common misconception that the military enlisted force is uneducated and that misconception is continued through indiviuals who do not educate themselves on the facts and rely on political talking points of the day."

Well I don't know what military you served in and when but the one I was in the day I graduated boot camp we had 1 out of 100 that got to put on E2 because he had a 2-year degree. The rest of us were high-school grads and were uneducated when compared to say...the officer ranks that required a four year degree. Sort of how the whole military thing works as far as I can remember - if you had a four year degree there was a good chance that you could become something called an officer. If you did not have a four year EDUCATION you were eligible to be enlisted. Period.

"I see why you defend flip-flop Kerry, you seem to pattern your own debate tactics after his."

I see why you were a pencil jockey in Washington (or did you make coffee for some four stars?) since you're obviously incapable of independent thought and reasoning.

If this country is as bad as you are painting it, then why is it that EVERYONE ELSE IN THIS WORLD wants to come here? You are really just mouthing the words of your party.

Minimum wage? How many really get just minimum wage? Not a lot here.

As for social security - who told you that you were not going to get it? I believe the President has been trying to make changes to ensure it's stability - it has been blocked by the democrats. Really now.

As for China, would you rather have them invest in India? In Pakistan? In France? In Iran? Take a valium and think.

Global warming is global farce - it does this on cycles, always has and always will. It is a political thing. Do some homework about its cycles.

The economy, you are being raped? Again, take a valium and try to get to the facts of the situation without relying on what the democratic leadership is saying. The economy is strong, healthy and growing. We have the strongest economy in the world. We have the best of everything in the world; otherwise again, why would the rest of the world want to come here?

Try telling that to the poor suckers being affected by global warming, as a direct result of this administration's in-bed approach to the oil industry. We are still the MAJOR party that has not signed Kyoto.

So, yes, in your eyes the economy may be doing better, but at what cost? The country (and the planet) are being raped before our very eyes, by a bunch of right wing religious bigot marauders, with no goal other than to line their own poskets. I'm not saying it was any better under Clinton's admin, but PLEASE, don't BS me that the economy is doing well.

And labels...do you mean a label like "liberals" that you and your goose stepping friends on the right love to use so much to describe anyone that is anywhere to the left of your far-right positions? Gotta love the smell of right-wing hypocrisy in the morning!

Ben I've concluded you are a lost cause and frankly are in way way way over your head on the subject matters at hand. Seriously dude...since we're talking about education so much in this thread you may want to look into one yourself.

And for what its worth, every American who died to save the world from communism should be rolling over in their graves right now because China now owns over $339 Billion dollars of US Treasury securities!

Bush junior is a total loser, face it, even if it is tough to accept.
Note that I said "Real Republicans". Do you think Clinton would have curtailed spending if the socialist democrats held congress?

Yes, but you don't address the massive dot bomb profit ratings of these companies, that like the Clinton administration, were made of the weakest sort of clay. That irrational exuberance generated massive tax revenue.

Finally, Bush has spent like a drunken sailor. Clinton financed his spending by slashing the military and intelligence agencies, and we see the benefit of that now, don't we. Also, does your defense spending include the Department of Homeland Security? I don't think so.

Over the head? Why, because I read and you only repeat what your party states? No, you are the one not knowing the real facts. As far as education, you really do not need to go there, my education is far higher than most people. Far higher. Now, you speak of the debt - it is there, sure is. Again, do you want China to invest here or in Iran? Answer the question. And yes, China owns bunches of our securities, and that being a well known fact, China is far from wanting us to crash - we crash and CHINA CRASHES EVEN HARDER. Go take another economics course without the democrats pushing its unsupported facts behind it.

Without resorting to the name calling you have clearly established you are capable of, without resorting to the party line which you have clearly established you are capable of espousing, then educate us. Point us in the right direction. Look at the GNP/debt over the years and tell us why we are in worse shape now?

The democrats under Clinton slashed the military. The democrats under Clinton killed our intelligence service, we went from having real assets (people in the field) to having satellites in the sky (wow) and when the real information is needed, we did not have it. Tell us, are we better off having a second rate military and a second rate intelligence service or are we better off being a nation with the strongest military and a strong intelligence service? We have problems, all of know that. Being second rate though gets a country defeated ---- leaving the country in the hands of people who want to give up, turn tail, negotiate with terrorists, people who refuse to recognize terrorism for what it is, those type of people are not what we need. You know that as well as I do. Open your eyes, stop the constant hating of the other side and think for yourself.

Do you want a strong government that stands up or a strong nation that does not stand up? That is for you to tell us.

He clearly is calling everyone who does not agree with the democratic leadership's standards a Nazi. You should be offended. I should be offended.

You know, I was under the impression that democrats do not want to offend. I was under the impression that democrats want to get along with the WORLD. I was under the impression that democrats thought themselves above OFFENDING other people.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, we now know that the above paragraph is not correct. No where in the statements made by the members of this group leaning to the "right" have we called anyone on the "left" leaning group stupid, goose steppers, Nazi, communists, et cetera. I am truely offended and I guess that MAKES ME A DEMOCRAT!!!!!!!

    WOW!!!! I AM A DEMOCRAT!

The thing is though, I was a democrat; I even voted for Clinton when he ran the first time. Two months after Clinton hit the office, I changed and have not regretted it since.

Ben, a democrat at heart and a republican in belief.
