U.K.: Plot to bomb U.S.-bound planes foiled
Britain bans hand luggage fearing 'liquid chemical' device; arrests made

    Stephen Hird / Reuters
A policeman patrols Heathrow airport in London on Thursday, hours after British police said they had thwarted a plot to blow up aircraft in mid-flight between Britain and the United States.

LONDON - British police thwarted on Thursday what they said was a plot to blow up aircraft in mid-flight between Britain and the United States and arrested more than 21 people

Do you think that the 21 terrorist are being abused while in jail? I’m sure some ACLU lawyer will be watching closely.
Boy I hope they didn't use any recordings of long distance calls from the USA. That would be a something the Democrats would beleive to be grounds their released.

What does the A stand for you think?
the chance of these people being US citizens is very slim don't you think?

And why would they call from the US? Or even to the US for that matter?
And the democrats have no say over what happens here

mmm to me it came across as somebody abusing a news item to go on their soapbox to spew out their dislike for certain political groups without there being any link at all..

When I first read this post, g.711's agenda pretty much stood up out of my monitor, reached out, and slapped me in the face. It was like a scene from Poltergeist.

No kidding. All morning, I've had a feeling that there's more to this than just the standard post-incident elevated security, like there's info out there about another credible threat. Hope I'm just being paranoid.

Yep, same goes for NRG and Barye. My goodness, when will the madness stop here. We are all Americans. Lots of our civilians might of died here today. I congratulate and thank the American and British authorites for preventing (hopefully) these attacks.

Not everything is a government conspiracy.

The only thing that would have prevented you from "crying wolf" today, is if a bunch of planes blew up in mid air and killed hundreds of people. I for one am glad it didnt happen, and Im grateful British and American intelligence was able to prevent it.

I do enjoy a good conspiracy theory though. But on the very day hundreds of lives were saved, Im really not that interested.

the only thing that would convince me that the sky is falling if the story were told by these shepherds, is when the wolf has its jaws on my **** !!!

Do not concur. Which part of NRG's post espoused a thinly-veiled political agenda? "Boo?" Wasn't that directed toward the real bad guys (terrorists)?

We are all Americans. Lots of our civilians might of died here today.
Concur. Back in 2001, I was optimistic (OK, naive) in thinking that the sense of unity and community would last. Needless to say, I was quickly disillusioned by mudslingers on both sides of the aisle.

I congratulate and thank the American and British authorites for preventing (hopefully) these attacks.

Concur, although my understanding is that American authorities didn't have much to do with thwarting the attacks. Of course, that's pretty much splitting hairs. regardless of their nationality.

OK, starting to think I'm just paranoid about other specific threats. I keep reading quotes like this: "BBC home affairs correspondent Daniel Sandford said despite the arrests the threat level had been raised 'in case there is some other sub-plot, back-up plot around this that the police aren't aware of'". Hope that's the truth and not just sociological opium.

I dont even know what to say to this one.

I repeat though, I am very thankful these attacks were thwarted. Our intelligence agencies have a very tough job....If an attack happens they get slammed for being incompetent, if they prevent an attack, its a conspiracy.

their pattern has been VERY consistent

every election cycle they discover some SCARY plot

suddenly we're all thankful for their "skillful" vigilance.

For 3 months voters will forget the catastrophes they've brought us
