Well, bit the bullet, thanks to you, and bought a roomba!
We'll see how fast my dogs and cats get used to it, or decide it's a toy to chase!

Make sure you visit the iRobot site.
You can build your own online and select only those features/accessories that you want and get a 10% discount.
Last night I bought the Discovery for $215.

I need to go buy some accessories (brushes, filters, etc.). Funny, I never had to spend this much on a normal vaccuum. It's like a treo: so much more expensive but worth every penny.

Bed Bath and Beyond sends out 20% off coupons on a regular basis. Don't overlook buying the accessories there. I'm pretty sure they carry them.

Ont the other hand, the iRobot site will give you free shipping if you exceed a certain amount and you won't pay sales tax.
    Good Luck.

Aren't those usually single item coupons? I suppose if they have the "kits" with brushes, and filters, etc, it would make sense. Otherwise, I'll get 20% off an $8 brush. Woo woo! :-)

Okay, I'll stick my two cents into this thread.

I have four Roombas; 3 Roomba Discoveries, and a Scooba.

We keep one Roomba on the first floor of my house, and one on the second floor. We run then nearly every day, and I have nothing but good things to say about them. My wife continues to allow the robot to clean over several rugs we have, that have fringed edges which the Roomba loves to catch on and rip threads out of. On two occasions over the past two years, the Roomba motor died from rug thread asphyxiation (or whatever). The IRobot company replaced it both times, no questions asked, and at no cost to me.

We keep another Roomba at our shore house. It does a smashing job keeping the tiled floors sand-free.

Oh, the Scooba... our newest addition. Amazing! Scrubs and dries the kitchen and hardwood floors better than I could myself. I LOVE THEM ALL.

Does that make me a technogeek?
