Hopefully somebody here can answer this:

If you have 2 documents (lets call them doc1 and doc2) is it possible to add a sort of hyperlink field to doc1 which displays the content of a chapter/section of doc2.
    and if so, how?

You would have to use the "Master Document" and subsequent "sub" documents if I am not mistaken. Can't check it out at the moment as I am not on my office computer ...

As a mod, you should know that you should search first.

    Hint...it's an "object".

FYI I did search, on multiple forums, on google, in word help etc.
But have not been able to find a clear answer.

And it is not as simple as adding an object

p.s. after discussing this with a couple of people I have come to the conclusion that it isnt really possible..

The master document option is notorious for being buggy and there is no other way AFAIKAFAIKAFAIK..

So I'll just put a link to the other chapter and not the a full text link..

Does it have to be a .doc extension? Maybe you could use HTML?

I searched and found this in under 30 seconds. Maybe that's NOT what you want.

it isnt, that puts a link to the whole file, not just a section of it..

I use that method to add graphs etc where the graph is the whole document..

Also that method adds a section in your doc the size of 1 page.. if the section in the source doc is bigger it doesnt work ok.

Next time before you accuse somebody please try to read the question better and ask questions before you jump to conclusions..
