    My CV states Mathematics....

Spare change is no longer required for pre-payment meters.... things have moved on, we now use swipe cards!

Pretty much everybody in the UK needs a TV licence (costs 131.50 per year)

Ah I haven't really visited any chippies (fish and chip shops) since I'm not a big fan of fish.. so that still may be true today..

Ann Coulter and Barbie have nothing in common anatomically. Ann Coulter and Calista Flockhart maybe, but not Barbie.

Yup...that is mostly where I have seen them. The first time I saw one was when I was visiting someone and halfway thru the evening all the lights went out...I was thinking a blackout. Then I hear someone asking "Anyone got a quid (like a coin dollar)? I need a quid, anyone got one?" Then a second later hear a caacheen...crank...crank (like in a bubble gum machine)...and the lights came back on!

I actually lived in a flat where you had to buy cardboard credit card looking cards with a magnetic strip and put that in the power box in the closet. When the strip ran out you had better hope that you have an extra one around or that the nearest store is not closed, or else it was going to be a cold dark night.

I have also seen similar coin boxes on the TV so that as they watch TV they are saving for their yearly license. Drop in a quid and you get so many hours of watching TV.

They were to pay for TV hire, not to pay the good ol' BBC their licence fee

don't forget that if you're blind you get 3 off your tv licence fee.

compared to the price for sky or cable it's not that bad a price though.

LOL they only knock off 3 if you're blind! You'd have thought it would be more like 100!

I think I pay about 180 per year for Sky so I suppose it's not too bad...
