With all the constant bad news always being reported, it is sometimes nice to see the reality that there is a nicer side life out in the real world.

If you see a news story that shows Good News, then please share it.

PS: This is not a good news in Iraq thread, more for everyday good news items.

What is honesty worth? About $10K and a diamond bracelet
    http://www.katu.com/stories/81470.html

LOS ANGELES - A Southern California cab driver's simple act of honesty has turned to gold.
Two weeks ago, the driver, Haider Sediqi, tracked down a jeweler and returned to him the $350,000 worth of diamonds he left in the back seat of the taxi.

As a way of saying "thank you," the jeweler sent the cabbie, an Afghan immigrant, a $10,000 check and a diamond bracelet.

But the honest cabbie was just as impressed with the man's thank-you note. The jeweler wrote that the cab driver had "changed his life."

The driver is putting the money in a bank account to help pay for his children's schooling.

And he's giving the bracelet to his wife, who assured him he did the right thing in returning the diamonds.

I don't think it would have helped with the forum...they were papers, magazines, etc...while sitting at an airport, on the plane, etc...I don't think a bookmark for those are what you were referring to though.

I think this might be more accurately classified as scary news. There is little doubt, IMHO, that someone was watching out for that little baby:

Mom Tosses Baby Out of Burning Apartment
    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,178786,00.html

NEW YORK A mother trapped in a burning third-floor apartment prayed and then dropped her 1-month-old son out a window to the crowd below. The infant was caught safely by a man who plays catcher for his employer's baseball team.

The rescuer gave the baby mouth-to-mouth resuscitation a skill he picked up two decades ago as a teenage lifeguard and the mother was rescued by firefighters. Both were treated at a hospital and released.

Tracinda Foxe, 30, was cornered by smoke and flames in the Bronx apartment on Wednesday when she went to the window with son Eric Guzman.

"I said, 'God, please save my son,'" Foxe told the Daily News in Thursday editions. "I prayed that someone would catch him and save his life."

Felix Vazquez, 39, a Housing Authority supervisor, opened his arms and snared the baby.

"I didn't think," said Vazquez, a father of three. "I just reacted."

Moments later, firefighters D.J. Martin and Bobby Eustace burst into the burning apartment, found a hysterical Foxe and gave her an oxygen mask.
