this is the best site for sports, this is the mobile site. it has stats and write ups about games (1st link)
if u have Avantgo you can set it up for offline viewing also.

This is good for scores, but what about those all important Fantasy Stats. One moment to rant. I hate the fact that I can't check my fantasy stats on CBSSportsline. I have to have a Get it Now phone for that... So I have to have a less technical phone to check the stats??? WTF?

that is a great place for scores and no-graphics. perfect for getting up to date scores and the like for most major sports. thanks.

i was also wondering, if there is a site where i can get player stats (passing yards, rush yards, etc.)

is there even a site mobile ready?

The ESPN site should work fine on your Treo (it does on mine and worked fine in my computer browser as well). Maybe needs http:// in front but don't think so.

agreed. espn does work. but i want to drill down even more and see player stats, i.e. yards received, yards thrown, sacks, etc.

i think the ESPN site is good, but it's hard to navigate especially with all the java, scripts, and multi-links, etc.

anyone else have a good site to use for stats?

Alright, I've been working on this for a while, and here's what I've come up with...

For single game scores and player stats in the game, I really like the free version of Pocket Express (http://express.handmark.com/). It is accurate and updates quickly.

For individual players for your fantasy football team, I use the mobile app from 4info. You can download it here: http://wap.4info.net/client

The app allows you to add players to an FFL roster so you can easily keep up to date with their stats. Very useful stuff.

    Hope this helps everybody out!

OD:Sports is pretty good (but not perfect). They have weekly results with game stats, team schedules, etc. But some stats are just erroneous. It tells me that Kerry Collins went 1/38 yesterday. The Jet defense was not THAT good, sad to say. (he was 17/38)

Have you tried NFL Mobile? You're on Sprint, right? Or does it not work on Treos? I have it on my a900, and can get scores as well as fantasy stats.

It's free. Just text NFL to 7777. Again, I don't know if it works on Treos.

There's also no way of telling if the score is a final score, or if the game is still in the 4th quarter. (At least, not that I can tell.)

I use the ESPN site listed above for in-game scores, then OD:Sports for stats/schedules/standings.

The NFL mobile link only gives a "incompatible device" error when you try to download it. But, if you have the .jar file and would be able to post it, it would be interesting to see if the NFL mobile app can work with the IBM java runtime files.

Not sure if this has been brought up here before, but 4INFO has a Fantasy NFL SMS package. Unlimited player stats, per month, for $3.99. It is pretty wild.

    Fumble Alert?
    Injury Alert?
    SACK ALERT?
My QB Just passed 250 yards passing alert!???

I mean, this is some detailed stuff. They have all the ususal as well. I have my entire roster plugged in. You can manage all the alerts through a web interface as well. Pretty darn slick!!!

    enjoy

pocket express is off the hook! (so far.) it looks great! has a lot of what i want and need. customizable, too. will let you know how game day goes. as for mlb, it looks like there is a lag? not sure as i'm still trying to figure things out. GREAT POST!

You can also try Football To Go. They have all the Player Stats (but not real-time) but I dont care about real-time player stats. I do care about real-time scores which they say will be available from this Sunday.

    Here is the link:

I tried Pocket Express but this one is more easy to use. I dont have to drill down multiple menus to get to Football. I wish Pocket Express improves their user interface.
