Just saw this article and decided to check it out - just did the test at dslreports at 115 kbit/second. Now I'm definitely glad that I didn't switch!

Still 40 kbit/sec on T-Mobile here in Alexandria, VA. Waiting patiently for Edge!

i'm glad you said something. i was away in NC when the original comment was posted, hoping I'd return to Arlington and there would be EDGE. no such luck. this info is the main reason i visit TC so much. T-Mo is so tightlipped, but i'm afraid right now it's not fiscally smart for me to switch anyway...

T-Mobile's just given EDGE a toe-hold in Atlanta...it looks like it's one or two towers downtown, around Woodruff Park/GA State U. I can't find it anywhere else - but in Woodruff Park, I recorded speeds between 90 and 165 kbs. From what I've heard, EDGE is supposed to be fully rolled out everywhere by the end of summer '05.

I found another tower over the weekend that's doing EDGE -- it basically covers the west side of the World Congress Center.

EDGE dies out one block from my office near Peachtree Center.

I think it was a recent post in the T-Mobile Yahoo group...I've seen similar posts in the Howard Forums.

How do you know if your Mobile Provider Support EDGE? I tried the DSL REPORTS and just got 20KBPS. =( Not sure if the modem script that I current use is limiting the connection for my iBook.
