    Heya.
I've been trying to be a good boy and wait for the T-Mobile version to come out so I can order it. Well, like many of you, I'm getting tired of waiting, and so is my dad. But, I'll admit to not having the time and patience, nor the mad search skillz, to find posts in the myriad of other threads on TreoCentral which actually contain success stories of people who ordered the Cingular Treo 600 for use on T-Mobile.

    SO! If you have
    1) ordered a Cingular Treo 600 via the Handspring web site to get the upgrade price of $399
    AND
    2) RECEIVED your phone
    AND
    3) used it successfully with your T-Mobile SIM card
    THEN
    Please post a note here.

If T-Mobile hasn't announced the Treo 600 by the last day of the Cingular discount, and there is every indication that there is no problem using the Cingular phone on T-Mobile, then I'll just order one of those.

    Thanks guys and gals!

Hate to burst your bubble, but the Cingular upgrade discount was over 11/24

There are plenty of threads out there on success stories of Tmobile SIM working in the Cingular branded Treo 600...here's a couple:

    http://discussion.treocentral.com/tc...-t43365/s.html
    http://discussion.treocentral.com/tc...-t42985/s.html

There are enough "thumbs up" out there that it would seem that most of the Tmobile users on this forum are ordering the Cingular one to use with Tmob. Although there are some people still holding out.

I have service with Tmobile and I ordered the Cing. branded one from Handspring and a Cing. branded one from ebay. They both are in transit for delivery this Thur!

Thanks, Stephman. I must have confused the AT&T ending date with the Cingular one. Well, I guess I don't have any choice, now, do I? Damn.
Still, I'd like to see those success stories.

I just updated my post with a couple links for you.
F.Y.I. the AT&T ones are reported to be LOCKED to AT&T
So wherever you purchase your T600, make sure it's Cingular version!!!...or Tmobile if it's out then

...Just sitting here with my new Cinglular T600 which arrived last night. I just signed up with TMobile, so I inserted my new TMo sim card and within a minute, received an SMS from TMo welcoming me, and telling me my phone number.

    Simple as that.

Startup screen is still Cingular (for now)

I haven't tried using the web yet...

I need to get a data plan and messaging plan first...

    So far, its seamless!

I've been using my T600 Cingular on T-Mobile since I received it on 11/22 (I ordered it on 11/3). As I was sure would be the case once I got multiple reassurances from HS reps that the Cingular version is unlocked, everything worked completely seamlessly. I just popped in my SIM card and was operational. I didn't subscribe to T-Mo internet, but for some reason I had access, and it worked well but seemed a little slow. I just spoke with a HS rep regarding this very annoying noise the T600 makes when making outgoing calls, especially on speakerphone. So, they offered to replace it, and I will, but I'm going to try to wait till the T-Mo version is out and see if I can get that one, as I believe the only possible advantage to Cingular optimization or T-Mo optimization (ie, using one brand with it's respective network) has to do with GPRS data rates. BTW, I did get upgrade price of $399 plus tax.

    Success story here!

T-Mobile SIM in a Cingular Treo 600. I synced the T-Mobile PHONE_logo.prc and now there is no sign of cingular. GPRS screams with Internet.

My Cingular GSM Treo 600 works great with my Tmobile service, I'm very pleased with my new phone.

Popped in my T-Mobiel SIM (from Sidekick), can make calls, etc. but because Sidekick data plan is unique and tied to the SIM, I can't even add-on T-Mobile Internet plan or T-Zones, but other than that, it works great.

Can you get tmobile to swap sims out? I've made changes in my voice/data plans before with Tmobile, without any problems, although I have never purchased/used sidekick.

Why do you insist on spreading this disinformation? I had a Sidekick, now I don't and data works perfectly. All you have to do is have your plan changed. Someone else also posted that they did the same thing. Obviously since it worked for two of us then the Sidekick data plan is not "tied to the SIM."

I think your best bet is to call T-Mobile with the 600 in hand, talk to one of their wireless people and have them walk you through getting it online. Mine did not work out of the box either but after having the data plan switched and fiddling with the network stuff, it has been flawless ever since.

    Fellow Treo 6ers,

Does any one know of a way to get rid of, or replace the Cingular splash screen that displays when wireless mode is switched off or on?

This is information that I have confirmed with three T-Mobile representatives that I cannot use the same SIM for data services for Sidekick and Treo, which is the point of my posts.

Everything is working fine on my Cingular T600 with TMO. Loaded up all my old apps that would work and only had to delete some games and PDA Defense (the new version although claiming to be T600 compliant causes resets). The only thing I cannot seem to get rid of is the envelope in the #1 button indicating VM is present. Any ideas?

That indicator on the number one key is not telling you that you have voicemail, it is telling you that by pressing and holding the one key it will take you to voicemail, it is a shortcut (created by default) in favorites. Go to favorites and edit the key for voicemail and you will see that "quick key" is assigned to "1".
The actual voicemail indicator appears just to the left of the signal strength icon.
