Well I finally got fed up waiting for T-mobile to release their phone, so I called HS and spoke with a CSR there. She quoted me $699 for the phone, $499 if I sign up with cingular, but $399 without a contract since I qualified for the upgrade offer.

Additionally she assured me that the phone was unlocked, and I could just pop my T-mobile sim into it. Since my contract with TM has expired, I figure I'll use that as leverage if they ever do release the 600, and anyway, I just had to get this before xmas!!

I just ordered my 600 through the Hanhdspring upgrade site for Cingular. I have a Sidekick and it never fails that I have problems with connectivity whenever T-Mobile / Danger does an upgrade/maintenance on their servers. Maybe by the time the Cingular Treo arrives, there will be some firm dates as to when T-Mobile brand becomes available.

Since I already have a data plan with my Sidekick, I have to call T-Mobile CSR to see how to get data plan on the Treo when it finally comes in.

I'm more concerned about T-Mob's recent draconian moves to limit functionality (for example, the decision to remove the ability to install third-party ringtones on the Sidekick).

I'm still on the original Sidekick plan. Can anyone who has done this migration explain what changes I would need to make in the plan in order to get voice and data if I got a Cingular Treo and moved my Sidekick SIM over? Or is it just a simple swap with no plan changes and no notice to T-Mob?
