    WBO: does 'shortly' mean tonight?

Do you any of the details? When will he be able to ship the Treo to us? How much will it cost?

    Thanks.

    Wee:

IF (and i mean if) HS releases the T-M version on Monday, will it be the locked version or will it work on my Cingular network (i.e. unlocked). I am losing patience.

    Your sage thoughts??

I will believe it when I see it with my own two eyes.

My coworker said that a friend that used to work at Verizon came by our office today, showing off his Treo 600 GSM branded by .... T-Mobile. I told my coworker that the GSM isn't available in the states yet. Coworker just said that his friend must of had some sort of hook up. Coworker said the screen looked great.... now, where was I when all this was going on????

I also sent an email to T-Mobile Customer Service to see if they will stick their neck out and confirm/deny that the Treo 600 will be available on 10/27.

    Need some input:

Right now I have AT&T but am unable to wait (oh ok unwilling) for the unlocked or AT&T 600.

I assume there is little difference between Tmo and Cingular especially since I live in LA and Tmo uses Cingular towers here..

My question is how liberal are Tmo and Cingular with unlocking there phones if i say I travel internationally and need to have the phone unlocked?
I know with AT&T since i have been a customer 5 years they did it once without hesitation.

Or maybe I just stay with Tmo/Cingular and switch my number after LNP hits?
Or best scenario is handspring starts selling the unlocked $399 upgrades right after the Tmo launch!!

I have been a T-Mobile customer for over three years and have been very happy with them and their customer service. My understanding is that they will unlock your phone (via request to CSR) after 3 months.

Seems to me that, since T-Mo is not subsidizing anything when we buy our upgrade from HS, they should IMMEDIATELY allow you to unlock the phone.

It has always puzzled me why the GSM carriers will strap you with a contract to protect their "subsidy investment" and still lock the phone on top of that.

T-Mo readily gave me the unlock code, three days after request, but I can't unlock my phone (270) because I don't have a foreign SIM card yet. I wanted to do this prior to going over seas to make sure it worked, but T-Mobile says there is no means of unlocking the phone without the foreign SIM card. I suppose I could go in a Cingular store and ask to borrow one...
