I just read a article on infosync stating that Qualcomm will begin shipping a chipset called MSM6500 which will let manufacturers make devices that work on CDMA, CDMA2000 1xRTT/1xEV-DO and GSM/GPRS networks. This direct competition to the GSM consortium and the Group of 5 (aka Nokia and etc) that control WCDMA. I think this is awesome b/c it will finally allow real 3G broadband connectivity for GSM providers in the states, and not that crappy GPRS which is 2.5G. I hope its not long before ATT, T-mobile etc come out with this technology b/c I hate to competely rely on SprintPcs and verizon.
