    Hey!

Does any one know whatís up with the speed on the Cingular GPRS network?

I used the down button trick from the unknown features article (http://www.treocentral.com/content/Stories/94-1.htm) as I connected. When it showed the speed, it read 9600? Thatís the same as the csd connection.

Those Barneys at customer support have no idea what the speed is supposed to be. So I ask, is it just me or is this max current speed of the Cingular GPRS network? I was looking forward to a considerable speed increase. Post you results and if this is true for everyone lets call Cingular and see if they are throttling the network.

I get the same 9600 when connecting to tmo, I do not know if that is accurate or not. I find pages load much faster and Avantgo sync time is almost half of what it was prior to gprs.

ya, it seems to be 9600. I think what makes it faster is that the latency is a bit better. It is still a far cry from the 28.8 it is capable of.
