AT&T's LTE upgrades coming this summer, starting with Texas | ZDNet

With Verizon making good on its own LTE promises, AT&T is finally starting to do the same.

This summer, AT&T will begin the LTE upgrade of its network with five cities - Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Chicago, and Atlanta.

Following the initial push, AT&T aims to bring the upgrades to ten more markets, aiming to cover 70 million Americans by the end of the year.

But what devices will those Americans be using? AT&T isnít saying just yet, though the company did say that 20 4G-ready devices would make their appearance this year. Some of those, the company says, may even be LTE-compatible.

Yes. Let's be careful not to confuse the veer 4g with LTE because they are incompatible

This would be better if iOS or WebOS would have an LTE phone. Can't stand Android.

Possible but not likely anytime soon. Late next year maybe?

I'm speculating that the iPhone 4S will be released next month and have HSPA+, like the Veer and possibly Pre3, and that this fall Apple will trot out an LTE iPhone 5. Let's hope hp can prep an LTE slab webOS phone by this fall, too.

What will AT&T call LTE now that they are already pushing the lie that HSPA+ is 4G? They going to call it 5G?
    Touchscreens are a fad.

You seriously think Apple is gonna release a phone for like three months before pushing out another one? That seems more like a Samsung trend than anything Apple's done.
