Just like dial-up, if you press the "down" button while the Treo is connecting to the GPRS service, it will give you details about the connection...

When connecting to T-Mobile's GPRS service, is says connecting at 9600. Is this right? Shouldn't it be faster?

    Thx

Seems to be the same with Cingular (at least on the west coast). What's up with that?!

I think 9600 is only the initial speed before GPRS connection. In Norway, the net is capable to use up to 38.400. The Treo is limited to 28.800 (2-1 Two slots down and 1 slot up). And comparing with other devices I have that use GPRS, this seems to be correct.

The 9600 reading is not valid when GPRS is in use.

So marcus, do you think that it is some sort of bug, or is truely the GPRS speed at the time the connection is initiated, as LongKesh had suggested?
