FYI only, I just finished talking to T-Mobile's Data Services and they confirmed that T-Mobile internet connection via your smart phone devices is down.

They have no ETA as of this time.

They need to call Al Gore to get this fixed since he invented the Internet.

Yeah, that was wierd, as it seems like the network connection to the internet was a partially disabled. I could see my phone email sometimes sync up with my work but the Blazer would go data time out.

Anyway, Internet access is up now but T-Mo say, it may require you to run off your phone for 3 secs and re-connect to get it to work.

    Hey Ron,
How's your data speed? Since 11/13, mine has dropped from 130 kbs to 50 kbs or less.

    Confirmed about slowdown: < 56k

Looks like we lost the EDGE.
  11. #11
HMMMMMM mine is slow now too 50kbit/sec the highest being 54. I have been getting alot of 504 error messages in the web browser, what is going on?
  12.    #12
Yes, I have getting that 504 error as well. I forgot the exact wording. Something like gateway error.
  13. #13
have you got any explination? I was thinking about getting Unlimited internet and cancel tzones. Cuz I thought it was a tzone issue. CC has no clue and hasn't been helping
  14.    #14
It really is not just TZone or you not having the TMo Internet.

It is TMo's network that is having a problem. Something is wrong and TMo CS is not saying anything because they don't have a clear idea on what's going on. For now connections are dropped to regular GPRS speed.

The error I mentioned earlier that I keep getting is:
    "HTTP Error: 504
    Gateway Timeout."
  15. #15
Yep, same here. I have been on the phone with since last week. There where a few times that the internet was out for 30 mins or so. If you dont have a treo or use the tmo internet you wouldn't notice.

Last week they said they were doing repairs. This week they say nothing is going on.

OK, I finally talked to someone in the "Blackberry, PDA" group who admitted that they know that EDGE is down in Savannah. He said engineers are working on it, but there's no ETA.

I'm glad just to have someone admit that there's a problem.

Some CS people are more honest (or makes it a point to know) than others.

I don't think it's just Savannah. When I initially reported the Internet connection problem, the CS person on the "PDA/Blackberry" group said, it was all throughout the country with sporadic connection on some areas. That's probably why smileyboy initially reported no issues.

The problem must have been pretty major.

Any improvement on your speed yet? My speed has deteriorated to below 40kbit/sec with 2.433s latency.

This is interesting. i have a friend that lives here in Denver. he is on Cingular getting 50kbit/sec here in Denver, He went to LA today and he is getting the same speed. Is something just up with the GSM networks?

I'm in Round Rock outside of Austin, TX and speeds this morning are in the 30's. Usually they're in the 130's. I'm less than a 1/4 of a mile from a fairly new T-Mo tower and usually get very good speeds and reception (after years of poor reception at the house). This is not good. Makes jumping to Sprint for their EVDO speed even more tempting.
