can anybody point me to a decent tutorial about ringtones, from a DIY perspective? I have a Treo 650, but I am apparently too dumb to understand how to 1. create a ringtone and 2. get it onto my phone. Mostly, it's #2 that has me puzzled. HOW Does one get a (new) ringtone onto their phone??!

No, I don't want to pay or even get "free" ringtones.. It just seems like there's something I'm missing and that I should be able to get some onto my phone w/o any web intervention..

    I dun't understand!

    thanks anybody!

If you want Mp3's as ring tones you can try MiniTones. You can find it at MyTreo.netIt will let you edit a Mp3 and the save it as a native ring tone so it shows up in you list of ringers.

    thanks, nik!

I'll give it a shot.. I've come to understand the general gist of things from reading this:

    http://blog.treonauts.com/2006/03/make_your_own_f.html

I ultimately ran into problems at every turn and ened up d/l'ing Ringo, but I'd rather use a piece of share or freeware, if possible. So I'll try minitones and see how that works..

    thanks,
