I looked at my bell this month and notice that it stated I was only allow 100 text messages a month. I called sprint and told them when I first created my account unlimited sms was included with my $15 a month PCS vision pack. the Rep said that sprint changed the unlimited sms to 200 sms on Nov 2004, then changed it to 100 Mar 2005. So now we only have 100 sms per month to use, and it we want to get unlimited Sms we will have to pay $15 a month for it, Unlike 5 extra per month Between Nov 2004-Mar 20005

The sprint Nextel Merger Cost sprint alot of money, and now they are trying to pass the buck to the Customers.

A question to people using Verizon. How the Service, and are the plan affordable.

if you have never changed your vision pack, it should have remained the same, Unlimited SMS. they cannot change it without notifying you, at which point, you have the option of quitting before the charges take place.

that being said, someone lied to you. call back until you get the unlimited sms put back on the account. if you have never changed the vision pack (i.e. quit vision) then you should have the original vision pack which consisted of unlimited sms

    Agreed w/ Sledgie -

I've been a Sprint customer for many years (I think it was '95). They have never chnged my pack - not for the good or for bad - with out my consent. I also think you were lied to ---- call back

You are better off than me. I talked them down to $7.50 for both of my lines, and was pleased. It is funny that I am happy with $7.50 for unlimited text, when I used to get it for free. Oh well, it beats $15!

On a posative note, Sprint recently changed all plans to the "clear and flexibel" meaning the paln adjusts each month toyou usage. It;'s cheaper for the customer, and, from what I read, is helping sprint with customer satisfcation

(this was from a month ago or more)

Wow! It now costs extra $15 for unlimited text messaging?? A couple months ago, I had just changed my plan to add unlimited text messaging for $5 extra. Previously, I only had 100 text messaging a month for my $15/month data plan.

I was almost considering changing my plan back to what it was before, since I hardly ever use text messaging. But maybe I should keep my new plan, assuming if it's true that it now costs much more for unlimited text messaging.

Well, they did it to me, and the best I could do was get them to credit me back what they charged for the extra texts. As far as I know, if you have vision the unlimited SMS is only 5 or 10 more, instead of the full 15. This was before the Nextel merger, also.

I do wonder, now that they've merged, if they're still doing the absolutely evil thing of requiring you to re-up for another two years just for wanting to change plans.

go over to pcsintel.com and post this in the Sprint forum. Ask for someone's help after describing the situation, someone will give you a better solution than me, i am sure.

If I understand it correctly, you should not be forced to pay more for your SMS unless you change plans and no longer had vision, or if your contract is up and you had to resign and had no vision previously.

Or, option #3, which is if you want EVDO, they may force you to lose your unlimited SMS.

those are the only 3 i know of, but head over there and post in the forums what happened and ask for help. they usually help out over there within a day or 2, and relating your story to the public may bring other people out stating that it happened to them, or how they got it solved.

I had free unlimited messaging. My bill then showed free 100 messages. I called to change back to the free unlimited and my bill now shows a $10/mos charge. I called sprint business and spoke with a rep. They said that after the sprint merger, no one is getting free messaging. Ofcourse, I highly doubt that. I was offered 100msg at $10 or unlimited at $15 or she would leave my account alone. I told her to leave it alone knowing I would call back to try my luck again. Is anyone getting free unlimited messaging with their vision plan?

I still have unlimited. Have the 85$ a month for 2000 min unlim vision. No change to my messaging amount.

As of this last statement, I still had unlimited messaging.

Well, I called sprint back the next day. The representative told me the he couldn't access the old code giving me free unlimited txt messaging. Instead, he changed my nights starting at 7pm to free (instead of the $5 I pay now) and charged me $5/mos for unlimited text messaging. Would everyone find this acceptable or do you suppose that it's more likely in the future that nights and weekends starting at 7pm will be a standard no additional charge feature and that free unlimited txt messaging is therefore more valuable?

I'm now using a free applcation called Reachthem, that lets you send free one way text messages, plus it offers some other great features

Dude they tried that with me about 3 different times. First I lost picture mail. So I upgraded my account to added picture mail for $5. When I received my next bill I noticed I lost unlimited text messaging. So I called Sprint and complained and the rep told me that it wasn't anything they could do because it was an old code. The next day I went into a Sprint store and pretended that I didn’t know what was going on and they changed it back to the old code.

Everything was fine for 2 months but when I went to send some pictures I found out that I lost picture mail again. So I called Sprint and they told me that it wasn't anything they could do. I really didn't care though because I could send pictures with versamail.

Everything was cool for about another month and then that's when it happened. One day out of nowhere my cell phone number changed. Somehow somebody at Sprint mistakenly did a carrier port on my account. Though everything was fixed in the end I do think that was an attempt to push me out of my grandfathered Sprint account.

After countless hours on the phone with customer service I still have unlimited text messaging. Lmao…

I'm currently paying $5 for "Sprint PCS Vision Premium Pack" Does this make sense? I thought it was $15. I have no clue why but I don't dare touch anything. I'm even considering skipping an upgrade to an evdo palm when it comes out because of the price I'm currently paying for unlimited data. Have a 600 and I assume that a jump to a 650 will trip any modifications to my data plan.

I just realized that I have free 'Vision Premium Pack & Unlimited SMS'. Thought I was paying $5 mo. for Vision.

I jumped from a 600 to the 650 with no problem to my plan. Surfing the net is faster on the 650, so I'm happy with it.
